Pocono: Horses to watch from May 14 - May 17

Ken Walters|May 19, 2022

Saturday, May 14
DRAGON STRIKES (CLMHCP30/40000) closed well from second over at 11-1 to just miss in last and bears watching.
KILLER MARTINI (CLMHCP20/25000) finished with good speed from second over in last to be second best to the pocket-sitting favorite.
BAMSKI (CLMHCP30/40000) finished wide and strongest of all at 45-1 to be second best to the odds-on pace-setting favorite.
CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN (W4-7) was parked to the lead, set a pressed pace and was outkicked by the pocket-sitting winner.

Sunday, May 15
DONTPASSME HANOVER (NW4) had poor cover but finished with good pace and might be luckier in next.
BOILING OAR (NW9500) wired the field drawing away in latest adventure and may take another.
TSM WESTERN SOUL (NW4FM) was parked the mile in grinding game effort and was second at the end to the tripped-out pocket-sitting winner.
CANT SAY NO (NW9000) raced uncovered but drifted in the lane while holding gamely. Could be the one if tighter in next race or two.

Monday, May 16
EXTRORDINARYLADY S (NW1FM) wired the field in odds-on score and will be heard from again.
FINN PALEMA (NW1) went the uncovered route and won with solid effort and comes from same barn as top one.
BULLVILLE FRANK (NWW) finished full of pace at 50-1 and nearly got it done.
BEYOND THE HILL (NW2) came from far back in latest and earns a look in next.
STORM IS RAGING (NW4000) won going away as the odds-on favorite and should take another.

Tuesday, May 17
ARTACHE HANOVER (CLMHCP10/12500) was parked the mile, battled the pacesetting odds-on favorite on a day when speed was holding and was second best in game effort.
VICIOUS (NW3) finished strong from second over and could get there in next race or two.
EDEN ONTHEHILL (NW1) wired the field in handy fashion and should be tough for a while.
GOLDEN GESTURE (CLMHCP75/10000) had the pocket from the get-go, got shuffled the final turn as the leader caved, tipped headstretch and got it done catching the favorite.
KEYSTONE SERGEANT (NW2800) was uncovered and second best to the even-money pacesetter in good effort.
