Pocono: Horses to watch from June 9 - June 13
Saturday, June 10
RIP WHEELER (NW20000) was a fast wire to wire winner in last and will be hard to catch with similar effort.
PAT MCGARRY A (NW20000) put in a quick last panel closing from around poor cover and bears watching.
DEALT A WINNER (CLMHCP30/40000) brushed to the third panel and was a handy winner in his second start of the year. Veteran will make some more money over next few races.
OUTWIT OUTRU (CLMHCP30/40000) was parked the mile, challenged to deep stretch before giving way...and not by much. Beaten favorite can atone in next.
Sunday, June 11
BETTE TINA (NW2500M) rallied uncovered the final turn and had aim into the lane but faltered. Could be tighter and could get luckier.
FLARES ZIV (NW1FM) odds-on favorite was nailed on the wire by the pocket-sitting winner and might atone in next.
LLOYD WRIGHT (STALLION) won from second over with game finish on a night when speed was holding.
GRIZZ WYLLIE (STALLION) also won from second over and would be no surprise with a repeat.
I GOT THE TAB (STALLION) rallied wide and late and was second best.
Monday, June 12
SORTIE (NW4000M) lukewarm beaten favorite charged home with huge rally but was a step short in the photo.
AWESOMENESS (CLM15000) won going away at 11-1 in latest nailing the favorite in the lane and could take another.
WEATHER VANES (NW4) rushed up uncovered from the half to the third call, challenged, wore down the speed but was second best to the second-over closing favorite.
TACTICAL MOUNDS (NW4) grinded uncovered to the lead, never looked back to be Kakaley's 7th winner on the card.
Tuesday, June 13
EXTREME Z TAM (NW4FM) second choice was deep on the rail, finished full of pace inside and bears watching.
DECOY (NW2500) went down the road easily and was one of Allard's five winners (for 4 different trainers) on the program. Vet can step up and beat better with a similar effort.
ROLLWITHPAPAJOE (NW6100) sat to the back, rallied wide, late and fast to nail second place on a day when speed ruled.
THORN TOAD (NW2) brushed wide to the third call to clear dying cover and drew off impressively.
