Pocono: Horses to watch from June 9 - June 12

Ken Walters|Jun 15, 2018

Saturday, June 9

THE SPY (CLM15000) was parked a long way wide, rallyied gamely to the lane and tired.

IDEAL KISS (CLM12500) tucked early, swung out in the final turn, swooped wide, closed a ton and will take home the prize soon.

RUSTY CARTER (CLM12500) went down the road under pressure and tired losing in late. Was claimed and will be tighter in next.

FIVE CARD DRAW N (NW9000) sat in with no interest and should not be ignored in next race or two.

Sunday, June 10)

KONNICHIWA (NW1) left, tucked, pulled, brushed and won handily in maiden breaking score.

CENTURY ENFORCER (NW1) sat to the final turn, tipped, went wide as the pocket horse pulled, closed strong and won going away in an impressive maiden breaking victory.

BEACH OGRE (NW3000) blew them away so easily and should be tough to beat in next.

CRITICAL MASS (NW6) came wide in the final turn, rallied gamely and just missed.

Monday, June 11

SKATES N PLATES (NW7000) wired the field in strong score.

THATS AMAZING (NW2FM) went down the road but could not handly the pocket-sitting favorite. Should find a field more to her liking.

LKS NANCY LEE (CLMHCP15/20000M) left to the top, yielded and sat pocket to be second best at 12-1 to the pacesetting even money favorite.

MIKEY LIKES IT (NW2) set the pace under last half pressure and proved much the best.

Tuesday, June 12

TERROR ATTHE BEACH (NW4) was parked, found no tuck, grinded to the top, set a quick pace at 8-1 and tired. Can get it done with a bit of racing luck.

SHADOW CAT (NW4) beaten favorite was out a long way grinding up uncovered into quick numbers, rallied all out and gamely but was outkicked by the tripped-out pocket-sitting second favorite.

PANSFORMATIVE (CLM7500) was parked the mile, challenged the last three-eighths, battled gamely but was nailed by the pocket horse.

DOREL (NW6000) was second over to the half, exploded wide, challenged, took the lead and opened up a bit but tired. Well bet second choice can get it done with easier trip.
