Pocono: Horses to watch from June 25 - July 1

Ken Walters|Jul 03, 2014

Wednesday, June 25

GALEX (CLM15000) was used to the top, yielded to the favorite's retake, sat pocket, rallied gamely to hold second.

GAME OF DREAMERS (NW4FM) rallied uncovered and continued gamely to the wire as the short priced favorite held all out.

CURVATURE (NW2FM) tipped to the wire and came on with a rush to miss by less than a length.

Saturday, June 28

MILLENIUM WHEEL (CLM27500) was parked, found a tuck, saved to the lane, rallied gamely between horses through the stretch.

VOICE OF TRUTH (NW23500) left, tucked, pulled to the half, challenged to the final turn, tired but should score soon.

DOO WOP HANOVER (HEMPTCON) rallied strongly from the moon on a night when speed ruled and should continue to win no matter where.

ALL BETS OFF (HEMPTFINAL) left, tucked, pulled uncovered, challenged the odds-on winner and tired.

GD AIRLINER (NW17750) was bothered but undeterred early, came wide from the back of the pack and closed strongly to win despite the speed bias.

Sunday, June 29

ST LADS HE MAN (CLM12500) was a ridiculously easy winner in last and looms a definite repeater.

ALFREDSSON (CLM10000) closed strong and powerful from fourth over in last to win convincingly and can take another with same effort.

AFTER ALIMONY (CLM15000FM) put in a three move effort in last but tired from the overwork. Perhaps a two move effort is all she needs to score a victory?

MACHIN MUSIC (CLM15000) closed fastest and strongest in last but could not catch the pacesetting favorite losing by a shrinking three quarters of a length.

Tuesday, July 1

SAWBUCK (NW5) put in a good down the road effort in last only to be nailed on the wire by POPS TRIBUTE for the second time in a row. Obviously needs a field without that dynamic foe.

YAGOT CLASS (NW4) was used hard in last getting parked three wide in the early going and having to take back to find a tuck. Pulled again past the half, put in a game second best effort to the much the best prohibitive favorite.

FORT KNOX (NW) was second best in pacesetting effort in search of the gold. Speedy guy will get a win soon.

MUSCLESPRINTONIAN (NW2) was much the best in last and should repeat.
