Pocono: Horses to watch from June 21 - June 23

Ken Walters|Jun 27, 2025

Saturday, June 21

AU JUS HANOVER (STALLION) yielded, retook and was much the best in her division.

LEFTIES RIGHTIES (W6-8) was behind poor cover, went wide, got stuck out there the rest of the mile, closed late passing weak ones. Beaten favorite could be luckier in next so do not ignore.

SIMPLY PERFECT (STALLION) rallied strong a long way and nailed it in the last steps in her division.

HAZARDOS (NW5) was bothered by an early breaker, cleared, tucked, raced second over to the same breaker, went wide in the final turn, closed steadily and could surprise.

HAZEVILLE (NW9800) set a good clip, put the field away with a brutal 3rd panel and was fast winner in latest.

Sunday, June 22

HUNTERS GAL (AHDC) had poor cover, rallied wide and finished strong to win going away.

GATSBY (AHDC) was looped to the lead and parked the mile, challenged to the lane before giving way. It was a great effort and a better trip could be enough.

NUTTIN BUT FINESSE (NW4600) put in an impressive uncovered effort to win going away in speedy time for the class and can beat better.

IM THE ONE (NW5) second choice on the board, tucked, pulled passing the third call, challenged the odds-on favorite and was second best in good effort and bears watching.

FERRETTI (WO25000) second choice on the board sat pocket to the prohibitive favorite's fast clip and nailed the win late in fastest trot of the year.

SOUTHWIN COORS (WO25000) was the one who set the pace in that speedfest and can atone in next.

Monday, June 23

STORM HANOVER (NW2/2YO) sat pocket and won going away to win racing debut and should have some more up his sleeve.

THREE TIMES BETTOR (NW5FM) put away a last turn challenger and won her 4th straight stretching back to last season.

DANCININTHEFIRE (NW1) retook and never looked back drawing in very quick mile for the class.

HILL OF A WISH (NW5) was third over and stacked very wide by headstretch. Finished well at over 70-1 and would be no surprise.
