Pocono: Horses to watch from June 2 - June 5

Ken Walters|Jun 08, 2018

Saturday, June 2

WALKS OF LIFE (CLMHCP20/25000) was used to the quarter to gain the lead, pressed to the half, yielded and retook, set a good clip, faced stretch pressure gamely but could not last. Beaten favorite likes to win and should atone in quick order.

BRAVE WORLD (NW12000) put in a fast down the road effort in last but tired and was nailed in the last steps. Should be a bit tighter and luckier in next.

BLOW A CLOUD N (NW18500) was beaten up badly on the front end getting hounded by hard pressure twice along the way and tired. Speed was failing more often than most nights and the double pressure did not help. Should gain a win soon.

FOX VALLEY CADET (CLMHCP10/125000) second favorite was parked to the lead, faced pressure a long way from the third favorite, proved second best to the fast-closing favorite and earns a look in next race or two.

Sunday, June 3

TWISTER LAUXMONT (NW1) closed late and fast and just missed. Can get it done with better trip.

ARTISTS RUFFLES (NW3000) came wide in the final turn at 43-1 passing a slew of foes and finish strong to be second best to the odds-on pacesetting favorite.

DON DREAM (NW6) yielded, retook, accelerated to the third panel and crushed his foes.

FOX VALLEY HERBIE (NW6200) closed with good speed from third over and can get luckier in next.

Monday, June 4

ILANA Z TAM (NW2FM) was nowhere to be seen until a blur moved around a dead piece, rallied to the pack, came wide and closed well at 28-1.

VELVATTER (NW2FM) left and was parked wide to the quarter, settled for a tuck, sat in and closed up the inside with good pace. Can get luckier in next.

RED MAPLE LANE (NW6000) took the top, yielded and was shuffled, slipped out and wide into the lane and closed strong to just miss.

MISS WAPWALLOPEN (NW3000) was moving and bothered, had to take up and back, came again and closed well but had lost the best shot.

Tuesday, June 5

ROCKAVELIAN (CLM7500) tipped in the final turn and closed a ton but just missed at 35-1.

DAVID HIMSELF (NW4) saved ground with game rally inside but missed a couple of noses.

AMERICAN FILLY (NW9800M), finished fastest from an impossible spot at 48-1 in most recent.

BOY MEETS GIRL K (NW6000) came uncovred, challenged and won going away. Should find another win soon.
