Pocono: Horses to watch from June 17 - June 21

Ken Walters|Jun 24, 2015

Wednesday, June 17

KG ROCKS (NW1/3-4YOFM) granted that speed ruled even more than usual but this huge winning wire to wire effort has to be noted for sheer force of the variant busting victory.

WHEELS (CLMHCP75/10000) saved to the lane, slipped out, proved gamest in three horse battle for second.

BREW MASTER (CLMHCP125/15000) finished with good trot from impossible spot and could surprise with right trip or a more favorable track for late closers.

DAY LILY (PaSS) was shuffled in the final turn, found room inside heading home with good finish and may only need a better trip to earn a win.

Saturday, June 20

SOMETHINGINTHEWIND (NW22500) was out to an early tuck, pulled to the half, chased the pacesetting favorite and was second best on the board and on the track.

SPARTACUS JIM (CLM10000) had the rail, took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, pulled, brushed to the lane and got away in good mile.

FOUR STARZZ Z pulled to the half, brushed wide to the third panel, got the lead and waved goodbye as the two favorites chased him home.

MAJOR MARCUS (CLMHCP25/30000) sat pocket to the favorite, battled gamely to the end and just could not get there. Well-bet second favorite will have his day soon.

REAL ILLUSION (NW8500) was parked the mile second over, came wide in the final turn, finished with good pace and should earn a victory in near future.

Sunday, June 21

IN MINT CONDITION (CLMHCP5/7500) was just one of a few that brushed and crushed on Sundy leaving no doubt another win was coming soon.

CELEBRITY SCANDAL (NW3000) did the same in quick time at nearly 8-1 and should be able to get another.

JINS DRAGON (NW4501) did a good job crushing his foes trying the same tactic but shocked them at 21-1.

SAM HAYES (NW3000) followed the favorite's cover and roared home leaving the speed and the uncovered favorite gasping for breath. Should find a way to win again in near future.
