Pocono: Horses to watch from June 16 - June 19

Ken Walters|Jun 22, 2018

Saturday, June 16

KING HARVEST (CLMHCP125/15000) took the top, yielded, tried to retake, battled, got looped wide by the winner, tucked the pocket in the final turn, tired. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

WAIKIKI BEACH A (NW22500) tucked, brushed to the top, dug in gamely but the late-closing odds on favorite was a bit too much.

LEGION OF BOOM (CLMHCP25/30000) took the lead at the quarter at 18-1, yielded to the odds on favorite's retake, sat pocket to fast fractions and proved second best.

BLAISE MM HANOVER (NW12000) sat in traffic, found room late between horses with good finish but was a bit too late.

Sunday, June 17

SKIDAWAY (NW6) rallied wide around poor cover and closed with good speed.

LUCKY MATTER (NW6) got off slowly, sat in throughout, rushed fast up the inside to miss by a couple of heads.

URBAN LEGEND (NW1) rushed to the top, set a good clip and was totally wrapped up through the lane.

CELEBRITY MASERATI (NW3000) tucked, tipped to the third panel, brushed and crushed

Monday, June 18

SHOW EM ALL LINDY (NW2) yielded for the pocket but was shuffled heading home when the leader gave way, rallied gamely, just missed and earns a long look in next race or two.

COUSIN BEA (NW2FM) brushed to the half, went down the road and drew off late.

CALIFORNIA CRUISIN (NW2) closed well from third over on a night when speed was ruling.

SPOILERONTHEBEACH (NW2) was third over and badly blindswitched the last turn, found room, ducked to the rail and closed like a rocket to nail it all and might take another.

Tuesday, June 19

MIKEY LIKES IT (NW4) was moving fast and smooth from far back through the lane and deserves a long look in next.

FAITHFUL DESIRE (NW10000M) closed well from second over at 12-1 in most recent despite broken equipment.

MUST BE THE BUNNY (CLM7500) was a very stubborn second best on the wire at nearly 8-1 but could not hold off the determined bid of the favorite.

MACHO CHICK (NW7000M) finished with solid pace from third over in most recent and will win soon.
