Pocono: Horses to watch from June 14 - June 17
Saturday, June 14
FEARFUL INTENT (NW9700) was a handy wire to wire winner in latest and can take another.
FALKIRK (NW5) bet off the board, the 3YO the let the speed settle, brushed and crushed and wins more.
JABBAR (W5-8) challenged the speed to the end, edged by for a short lead at nearly 18-1 but was nailed by the tripped-out short-priced pocket sitting favorite.
PAROLA HANOVER (NW9500) tucked to the quarter, pulled past the half, went wide to clear dying cover, cleared, challenged but tired in the late stages. Should be tighter in next and a better trip would make for a different outcome.
ROMANTIC LOU (NW2800) sat in to the lane, slipped out into the stretch and closed fast at 20-1 to just miss in good effort and bears watching.
Sunday, June 15
HANGOVER (PaSS) beaten favorite was off slow, sat last for most of the race, flashed some good trot along the rail and was second best to the well-bet second favorite. Should be tighter in next and can atone.
ELAINE T S (PaSS) pulled to the third call, challenged and was taking the lead when the leader broke, dug in with good trot to light up the board at nearly 34-1.
SANTA CRISTINA (STALLION) sat in, finished full of trot along the rail and bears watching.
TABDONE (STALLION) wired the field in handy score and can take another.
DP REALORDEAL (CLM20000) hit best stride a step too late rallying from third over at 18-1 and would be no surprise in next.
CLUTES HANOVER (NW1) well-bet second choice pulled passing the third call, rallied steadily and blew by the tiring favorite.
JUST THE FACTS (AHDC) deserves kudos for being parked the mile and kept coming gutting out a brave victory.
Monday, June 16
PRINCE CHARMER (CLM15000) closed with good speed from third over at 13-1 and nearly got there over the sloppy track. Maybe next time.
PUZZLING (CLM7500) challenged the odds-on leader but was second best at 7-1. Do not overlook in next race or two.
CANT SAY NO (CLMHCP10/12500) was parked the mile, went wide to clear, chased uncovered, tired but held second place and deserves a look or two in next race or two.
DREAM WEAVER DEO (NW1FM) was out a long way to gain the lead, set the pace to the last steps and was nailed on the wire. Beaten favorite should be tighter in next and atone.
THREE TIMES BETTER (NW4FM) was bet like her name implied and won as her name implied and another score is definitely on the horizon.
CHEROKEE FAITH (NW4) finished fast from third over and can get it done with better trip.

Tuesday, June 17
MINDTRIP (CLM15000) was third over, followed wide, stacked 4-deep and closed well to game out 2nd at 25-1.
BEN ROCKIN (CLM15000) was last to the final turn, rallied, was 3-deep the final turn inside the top one and outkicked for 2nd place. Both earn a look because favorites and front-steppers ruled the day and these two were neither.
INFLATION PROOF (NW2) second choice was second over to poor cover, rallied wide the final turn and was up for second in good finish. Comes from winning barn and will score.
JK MIKI MANTLE (NW6400) was second over, lost cover, kept coming and was second best to the pacesetting favorite. Maybe next time he hits it out of the park?
GRAND RESERVE (NW2) on a day built for speedy off the shelf favored winners this one was the most impressive.
GLOWING LOU (NW2) was sin the pocket second best on the board and at the end to the prohibitive pacesetting all-out winner and should take home the prize in next.
