Pocono: Horses to watch from June 1 - June 4

Ken Walters|Jun 07, 2024

Saturday, June 1

TEAM MAC (CLMHCP20/25000) yielded for the pocket and second best at over 10-1.

PAT MCGARRY A (NW9500) closed well but was nailed by late-flying longshot surprise.

CRISTAL TRIP IT (W4-7) second best on the board, went down the road but was proven second best by the late-closing favorite.

BINGE ON YANKEE (NW17500) set a good quick pace but was nipped on the wire. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

WARRAWEE XTREME (NW4400) was the victim of a brutal trip. Parked wide early, pressed the pace hard to the final turn before tiring.

Sunday, June 2

GOING GREEN (NW2) well bet second choice wired all but the very fast closing winner in last and can take most with similar effort.

SHARKY BEAR (CLMHCP15/17000) getting parked from the three hole is 'bad luck' and forced to challenge the favorite to the lane makes it 'double bad luck'.

COCKTAILWITHAKICK (NW1) wired the field and looked to have plenty left in latest.

ROCK KING DEO (CLM7500) rallied wide and late with good pace to be second best at 44-1 and would be no surprise.

Monday, June 3

BULLVILLE TERROR (NW2800) came uncovered, seemed beaten heading home but rallied back and missed in the photo.

FRENCH KRONOS (NW4) jogged and should win a few more.

SEET ILLOUSION (NW1FM) had an early challenge and a late challenge but was much the best as an odds-on favorite hopes to be.

DRUNCK DOUBLES (NW10 left, challenged, tucked, got shuffled the final turn, tipped and closed with good speed but came up short. Beaten favorite would be no surprise with better trip.

ONE AFTER NINE (NW6400) was badly shuffled the last turn by tightly-bunched field, tipped widest and closed with good trot.

Tuesday, June 4

VILLAGE JADE (CLM15000) well-bet third choice challenged the well-bet second favorite, dug in gamely but was outkicked by the pocket sitting tripped-out favorite. Will get it done soon.

BENICIO (NW10700M) tucked pocket, slipped out in the final turn, closed well but was second best at the end.

ZEUS HANOVER (NW4600) rushed wide around tiring cover, took the lead, opened a couple but tired in the quick mile and was nailed by the late rush of the odds-on favorite.

BULLVILLE FRANK (NW2800) was wide the final turn, hit stride into the lane, closed strong and just missed. Beaten favorite should not be ignored.
