Pocono: Horses to watch from July 7 - July 10

Ken Walters|Jul 12, 2018

Saturday, July 7

HORSING AROUND (NW6000) came wide to the half, raced deep to the lane and closed gamely but it was too far to come.

KEPT UNDER WRAPS A (NW3000) went down the road in quick time as the well bet second choice but came up a nose short in the photo to the tripped-out odds-on favorite.

URBAN RENEWAL (NW9000) sat in to the stretch, slipped out, closed well but just missed to the pocket-sitting favorite.

MAJOR TRICK (CLMHCP30/40000) rushead to the top, met two separate challengers, put them both away but tired at 9-1. Can win if he gets a bit luckier.

Sunday, July 8

FASHION WINNER (NW3600) made two moves to the top, yielded and sat pocket, took another shot at the third panel, challenged the favorite, wore him down but tired.

KEYSTONE THOMAS (NW3600) got away to quick lead, met pressure the last quarter and was nailed in the last steps at 8-1.

BABY CHEY (NW1FM) tucked to the quarter, got a shuffle, pulled third over to the three quarters and closed good but late.

SANTAFES COACH (W4-6) tucked, sat in, rallied strong up the rail but just missed. Beaten favorite should atone.

Monday, July 9

MCDAZZLE (CLMHCP15/20000M) was parked the mile,c hallenged, gutted it out for second as the pocket-sitter nailed her late.

FINNICK ODAIR (NW2) rallied to the final turn, went wide and finshed strongest but had far to come.

SHOW BIZ HALL (NW6000) was wide trying to clear cover, challenged as cover took the lead, had aim but tired at 47-1.

PROSPECT HILL (PaSS) rushed to the top, met pressure, shook it off and drew away leaving the impression there will be more wins.

(Tuesday, July 10)

SYLVESTERAMERICAIT (NW9000) sat in to the lane, tipped with good finish but the winner had gotten away. Beaten favorite will find the winners circle soon.

FINAL DREAM (NW4) came wide in the final turn, loomed for a few moments, settled back to follow cover and tired. Should be tighter in next and could get luckier.

BONDI HANOVER (NW6000) was parked the mile, challenged all the way and got outkicked by the tripped-out second-over favorite.

CHILLIN IT DE VIE (NW7500M) pulled to the half brushed to the lead, set a good clip but was nailed in the last steps.
