Pocono: Horses to watch from July 5 - July 8

Ken Walters|Jul 11, 2025

Saturday, July 5

MORE THAN GUAPO (NW2/2YO) was second over the final turn behind tiring cover, came wide with good finish and bears watching.

CASSIUS HANOVER (NW6400) sat pocket, pulled when ready and won going away.

VIRGO (NW18500) went down the road at a good clip and was a handy winner.

MISSISSIPPI STORM (NW13000) beaten favorite had a tough trip on the front end putting away two challengers before tiring.

Sunday, July 6

SAN DOMINO A (CLM20000) sat to the rear, rallied the final turn, closed well on a day made for front-end speed and bears watching.

AVENGER FORCE (CLM2500) tipped in the final turn third over, finished full of pace to be second in 6-horse photo.

TIME TO STRIKE (NW1FM) closed well from second over to finish a bit short to the pacesetting favorite and the pocket sitting well-bet second favorite.

HAMMERING HANK (CLMHCP30/40000) was second over, wheeled wide, just missed in the photo and is never out of it.

DEMONE DEIVENTI IT (NW2800) went down the road in a jogburger and will be hard to beat in next.

Monday, July 7

TEAM MAC (CLMHCP75/10000) sat pocket and won as easily as a 1-9 is supposed to win.

SIMON GOT LUCKY (CLMHCP10/125000) was long wide from the back of the pack and was second best in the photo at odds of 55-1 to the pacesetting odds-on favorite in last.

WESTERN RAPTOR (PaStars) is now 2-for-2 in short career and seems able to make it 3-for-3.

LOUISVILLE GB (WO25000) finished full of pace but a tad too late. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

MELILLE (PaStars) second favorite was second best at the end to his stablemate. Some trainers have a habit of winning...Never overlook their entrants.

Tuesday, July 8

ALLLIANCE (CLMHCP75/10000) was stuck with poor cover, ducked in heading home, tipped again and closed well but too late.

BUSY MISS LISSY S (NW2/2YOF) filly went down the road and drew off as much the best.

LYONS MUSIC (CLMHCP125/15000) followed wide the final turn and finished strong to earn a look in next.

METAL MAN (CLMHCP125/15000) was long wide the final turn and must missed the tripped-out favorite.

WARRIOR (NW2) wired the field in handy fashion and will win some more.

SINBAD N (NW4500) was parked the mile, challenged to head stretch before tiring.
