Pocono: Horses to watch from July 30 - August 2

Ken Walters|Aug 03, 2016

Saturday, July 30

GOLDIN PARACHUTE (CLM20000) finished fast at 29-1 in last outing and just missed.

BWT TAJ (NW13000) left to the top, yielded and was shuffled, rallied too late but bears watching in next.

PIECE OF THE ROCK (CLMHCP25/3000) was stung challenging for the lead, yielded to the favorite's brush and tired but was easily next best.

E STREET PLAN (NW9000) rallied gamely uncovered and earned the place paycheck. Should get the winner's share soon.

Sunday, July 31

FASHION CREDITOR (NW9) beaten favorite had far to come in last but finished well.

COUGAR BAIT (NW3/2YO) took the lead, yielded, got shuffled, brushed, set a pressed pace as the odds-on favorite challenged and dug in gamest.

WILLEY BITE (CLM7500) wired the field in good order and looked to have enough left to try it again.

CELEBRITY BUGATTI (NW25000) put in a good game uncovered bid and can get it done with better trip.

Monday, August 1

EVER AGAIN (NW2) rallied strong from a very distant 5th over and earns look for score in near future.

MARLA MCGIVERS (NW2FM) tucked early, pulled to the half, challenged the pacesetting favorite a long way, wore that one down but was nailed by the strong closing fresher rival.

STAR PHOTO (CLMHCP10/12500) was second over to tiring cover, came wide, closed strongly but just missed.

GALLIC SEA (NW3/2YOF) was an uncovered wrapped-up 2nd best in last and gets long look in next race or two.

CRUISIN NORTHWEST (CLM10000FM) rushed home fastest of all but far back in latest and the move would have nailed most this level.

Tuesday, August 2

ROCKERS ALLLEY (NW5FM) closed well at 100-1 and missed by only three-quarters.

SOUTHWIND VOLTAGE (NW9000) made a costly break at the start, took back, rallied well to catch the field and finished gamely inside. Staying flat might be all it takes.

LOVINEVERYMINUTE (NW9200M) was a wrapped-up front-stepping winner after putting a middle half challenger away.

FORT VALLEY AS (NW9000) was shuffled badly in the final turn, tipped and made up good ground but much too late.

TATARIA (NW13500M) was brutalized on the front end finally succumbing to the third challenge and tired.
