Pocono: Horses to watch from July 27 - July 30

Ken Walters|Jul 31, 2019

Saturday, July 27
ATTA BOY DAN (CLMHCP30/40000) went down the road in handy fashion to win again and stays hot till he's not.
GLOBAL REVOLUTION (NW3000) went to the top, yielded, got shuffled, tipped in the final turn and finished with trot. Front end speed...shuffle...late speed....maybe next time?
TEXICAN N (NW6400) took the top, yielded, retook and held gamely but was nailed in first race for new barn. Should be tighter in next.
BOOK BINGE (NW3000) rushed to the top, met determined pressure, put the challenger away and dug in gamely but the early work tired him out.
Sunday, July 28
SPRINGSTEEN (W4-7) brushed to the third panel to take command as he returned from a short layoff and was an impressive winner.
CRUISING IN STYLE (NW7) brushed to the lead and was a handy well bet winner and should be tough in next.
UPFRONT BILLY (NW175000) was caught in when early lead changes hindered his early move, tipped third over passing the third panel, came wide with solid finish. Will not be 55-1 in next.
SEAFARER (NW4) finished fastest in late rush to just miss in latest.
Monday, July 29
SHANGHAI BOBBY (NW1) left, took the top, got shuffled, pulled, brushed and crushed in very quick mild and should be hard to beat in next.
DANCING RUSTY (CLH7500) was caught behind dead cover, rallied wide, cleared and tucked at 14-1 and chased the top two favorites to the wire. A better trip will make him an interesting possibility.
ALEXISS BEACH (NW2/2YOF) rushed to the top, yielded, got shuffled back, rallied gamely when clear and got it done.
FOOL OF IDEAS (CLM7500) finished with a rush from a bad spot and bears watching.
Tuesday, July 30
COMMON SENSE S (NW2/2YOF) took tuck early, pulled and went to the lead and drew away as the rain came down.
HEART N SOUL DEO (NW2/2YOF) tucked, sat in to thew lane, won going away to notch third straight win to start her career.
MODESTA (CLMHCP125/15000M) tucked twice, sat pocket heading home and won going away in solid victory.
DOWNUNDERMATTER (NW9000) closed strong from far away and just missed in noteworthy effort.
