Pocono: Horses to watch from July 23 - July 26

Ken Walters|Jul 27, 2016

Saturday, July 23

ARMOR HANOVER (NW18000) cruised home in last and should be tough in next.

EARLY STORM (CLM12500) was parked to the lead, set the pace under pressure and gutted it out to the wire but could not last.

VAGUE TRACES (NW12100) brushed and crushed and should take another.

BALLINROBE (NW9000) made a huge rally to win going away in last and will be hard to deny with similar move.

Sunday, July 24

MASSIVE TALENT (CLM20000) was shuffled in the final turn but finished willingly once into the lane so do not ignore.

POINTE OF HONOUR (NW6000) rallied up uncovered at 84-1, challenged the favorite to the lane and weakened. Should improve and a win should come soon.

HOMICIDE HUNTER (WO27500) set the pace, battled with the uncovered favorite the last quarter and came out on top.

VENENO (NW1) came wide around poor cover and closed with good speed. Can get it done soon.

FOOLS REVENUE (NW6000) got shuffled to the third panel, rallied well form third over and should find winners circle with better racing luck.

Monday, July 25

EXPLOSIVE BROTHER (NW2) brushed to the lead, opened up but proved 2nd best to wicked closing winner. Beaten favorite will atone.

WHO DO YOU LIKE (NW5) was parked to the lead, met immediate pressure, yielded and was shuffled, rallied gamely through the lane.

BREAKTIME HANOVER (NW2) saved to the lane, rallied steadily and had eyes on more but had to take up late in blanket finish.

MARION GONDOLIER (NW2) teucked, got shuffled, got jammed up in the final turn, cleared with good finish but had lost best chance.

SILVERHILL VOLO (CLMHCP75/10000) was parked the mile, challenged a long way and stayed close to the end. Should do better with better trip.

Tuesday, July 26

PAN OF STEEL (NW3) brushed to the lead as the speed settled, set a pressed pace and dug in gamely over the tiring track but was nailed on the wire. Beaten favorite will be tough over more favorable track condition.

PRETTY BOY HILL (NW3) was parked to the pocket tuck, got shuffled as the lead changed, raced uncovered, challenged but tired. Will be harder to deny with easier trip.

LOVE THAT BADLANDS (NW3000M) finished strong but too late in last and cannot be ignored.

ZETTE STARLET (NW3FM) put in a credible down the road effort only to lose it last steps but could be tighter in next.

SKY MCFLY (NW6000) finished full of pace from third over in last and just missed.
