Pocono: Horses to watch from July 22 - July 25

Ken Walters|Jul 27, 2017

Saturday, July 22

ALWAYS AT MY PLACE (NW22500) got an early shuffle, let the speed settle, pulled, brushed, set a strong clip and rolled home crushing his foes and the variant.

HOME N DRY (NW18500) was uncovered a long way, dueled with the short priced second choice and tired. A better trip will put him closer to the money.

CENTURY CHURCHILL (NW6000) was quick to the top, yielded, retook, yielded again, sat pocket and outgamed the pacesetting favorite. Three-move winners have to be respected.

SCIROCCO JAKOB (NW12000) was behind a quitting horse and shuffled out. Rallied late and should be luckier in next.

Sunday, July 23

BLOWNOUTOFTHEWATER (NW3000) beaten favorite broke before the start, trailed and closed fastest in cavalry charge to the wire but had much too far to come.

SIX PACK (NW1) this 2yo wired a field of elders in convincing fashion.

LADY OF HEAVEN (NW1FM) made her maiden victory one to remember with big stretch rally and should take another or two.

BILLY BUTTON (NW3) rallied very wide in the final turn and flattened just a bit. Better timed move should get 'er done.

Monday, July 24

NORTHERN OBSESSION (CLMHCP15/20000) was parked to the lead and hounded throughout the mile before tiring.

NEWS WATCH (NW2) yielded twice, sat pocket and rallied gamely losing by a nose.

WESTERN LIBERTY (NW2FM) wheeled off the rail, split horses angling out, followed wide and closed strong in last outing.

MUSCLE VILLE (NW3) tucked, sat in, finished fast up the cones and nearly picked up the win.

Tuesday, July 25

GOD FORBID N (NW9500M) rushed wide in the final turn, got bothered slightly, tipped cleared and closed with a rush.

JERAMAYA (NW9500M) was third over and was bothered in the final turn, cleared and closed well at nearly 120-1.

MICHAELS VICTORY (NW3000) tucked to the quarter, pulled passing the third panel and was second best to the odds-on winner both on the board and on the track.

ROSEAREEXPLOSIVE (NW3FM) romped in front end jogburger the way they are supposed to at $.05 on the dollar.

MATINEE FASHION (NW2/2YO) rallied uncovered showing speed and gameness chasing the even money favorite to the last step.
