Pocono: Horses to watch from July 16 - July 19

Ken Walters|Jul 21, 2022

Saturday, July 16

WHATS GOIN ON (CLMHCP20/25000) was parked to the lead but that was that in romp to the winners circle.

MYSTICAL WYNN (NW12000) went down the road winning handily as the prohibitive favorite to rack up 2nd straight victory.

CASUAL COOL (NW17500) set a strong clip and was a handy winner.

WESTERN JOE (NW17500) beaten favorite was too late chasing the fast fractions of the pacesetter and could be luckier in next.

THE WILD CARD (NW12500) slipped out in the final turn, angled wide and finished full of pace and earns a long look in next.

Sunday, July 17

THE STUNNING NUN N (NW13000M) finished full of pace from an impossible spot to miss by a half length and could get luckier in next.

TALK SHOW CHICA (NW17500M) was parked the mile pressing the pace all the way at 26-1 and held together pretty well despite tiring by the lane.

BEACH COWGIRL (PaSS) tucked early, rallied powerfully the final turn and won impressively in wicked time.

NIMAH FRANCO N (NW2500M) beaten favorite had to overcome poor cover and was forced wide in the final turn, finished well but was a step too late.

LADY ELECTRA (NW25OOM) followed wide from the back of the pack in latest and should not be overlooked.

Monday, July 18

PLAY THE ACE (NW) beaten favorite was in the pocket but got shuffled in the final turn, rallied back and just missed.

VANESSA J (PaStars) yielded, retook and proved and lived up to the price on the board with an impressive maiden-breaking score.

PEPPERMINT MAN (NW2/2YO) prohibitive favorite yielded, retook and won easily to record second straight score.

SPEED AWAY (NW4) brushed early and sped away for huge crushing victory.

MISS MUSCLE (NW6000) showed her muscle pulling away from the field impressively.

Tuesday, July 19

ABRUZZO (NW2) trotter wired the field easily drawing away as much the best and will score again.

REDBANK BLAZE A (NW4400) yielded, retook and paced away impressively in a romp.

MUSCLES JARED (NW4000) veteran trotter was well bet in second race off a long layoff and did not disappoint. He tucked, settled, brushed and crushed.

FULSOME (NW5) second choice rushed up boldly to the three quarters and challenged the pacesetting favorite to the last step but was second in the photo.

HOW THE HELL (NW1) came uncovered and won going away for second straight.
