Pocono: Horses to watch from February 27 - March 1
Saturday, February 27
TRENTE DEO (CLAIMS) tucked the pocket, got bothered in the final turn as the leader tired, cleared with good rally but the wide rushing winner had made his move.
CINNAMACK (CLAIMS) sat to the rear, rallied passing the third call and finished full of pace at over 50-1 but just missed.
BARNABAS (CLAIMS) rushed home from an impossible spot at 48-1 to nail second and earns a look in next.
JANAID (CLAIMS) was used hard throughout and tired while holding to the late stages. Do not overlook in next outing.
GRAND TETON (CLAIMS) got off slowly and had too far to come with a late wide burst of energy in most recent.
Sunday, February 28
DONTCALLMEFRANCIS (CLAIMS) brushed to the half and won impressively. Will be hard to beat in next.
SWEET TALKIN SATIN (CLAIMS) wired the field and drew away easily.
ESAI HANOVER (NW4) set the pace under pressure and held gamely but was outfinished by the tripped-out pocket-sitting prohibitive favorite.
NOME HANOVER (NW4) tucked early, pulled to the half, challenged to the lane, had aim but tired.
JOESSTAR OF MIA A (NW3000) grinded patiently to the lead, met pressure but drew off as much the best.
Monday, March 1
MAGNIFICENT SEVEN (NW6000) broke at the start, recovered to the rear, rallied wide in the late stages with big finish and should not be ignored.
WAR DAN DELIGHT N (NW6750) went to the top, yielded, got shuffled, tucked again, sat pocket to the favorite and was second best in good effort.
OUTKAST BLUE CHIP (NW6750) tucked to the quarter, pulled to the third panel and finished strong to win going away.
VITANI AS (NW2FM) went down the road in convincing score in first outing of the year and can take another.
RARE MUSCLE (NW2) was a very competitive uncovered at over 7-1 challenging the odds-on favorite and should score soon.
