Pocono: Horses to watch from August 6 - August 9

Ken Walters|Aug 11, 2022

Saturday, August 6

HURRICANE GEORGIE (CLM25000) was parked to the lead, met pressure twice along the way and dug in but but nailed in the last steps by the tripped-out winner.

CHAPOLIER (W4-8) had to rally wide the last turn and just missed in 3-horse photo. Beaten favorite can atone with a better trip.

BRAVO TEX N (NW6000) co-second choice followed wide the last quarter, finished full of pace once the logjam was cleared but was second best to the impressive favorite.

BIZYS BEATLE (CLMHCP20/25000) beaten favorite was buried on the rail to the lane and just missed with strong but 'one step too late' rally.

Sunday, August 7

SWEET CHILI HEAT (STALLION) yielded twice along the way, sat pocket and rallied again to just miss at 8-1.

SHEZAFREAKLIKEME (NW9000M) tipped the final turn, wheeled 4-wide with strong finish and could get it done with right trip.

QUIXOTE (STALLION) brushed to the third call and was a handy winner at even money. Will earn some more wins in near future.

HEARTBREAK HOTEL (NW9000M) slipped out the final turn and motored home to win going away as the odds-on favorite.

Monday, August 8

BILLY RAY HANOVER (NW2500) was parked the mile, challenged to the final turn and tired. A better trip could be all it takes.

STAR SO BRIGHT (NW2/2YOF) put in a good rally to go around the weaker ones and should not be ignored.

DIG THAT CURVE (NW1) closed well from 3rd over in last and bears watching.

STRONGERWITHLINDY (NW2) sat pocket and rolled by easily. Had plenty left and can take another.

Tuesday, August 9

RIPPLESONTHEBEACH (NW5) put in a game uncovered bid at 13-1 only to lose to the tripped out second over favorite's late rally.

ARCHIBALD (NW4000) tipped, rallied wide to clear a stalled horse, chased the leader, challenged and drew away in strong win.

DEVILISH HILL (NW2/2YO) was a three-move winner and should give it another try in next.

ABRUZZO (NW11000) was a handy down the road winner in last and would be no surprise to repeat.
