Pocono: Horses to watch from August 5 - August 8
Saturday, August 5
LYONS LIBERTY (CLMHCP20/25000) sat last, rallied wide with good energy and should not be ignored.
AGGIORNAMENTO (NW9500) had poor cover, rallied wide with strong finish.
SEVENTIER (NW13000) trotter grinded up uncovered finishing third at over 40-1.
OUTWIT OUTRUN (CLM40000) finished full of pace to get up for second and bears watching.
JACKS LEGEND N (NW17600) put away a last-quarter challenger but was nailed by the pocket-sitting favorite.
Sunday, August 6
DRESDEN (NW6400M) beaten favorite made a bold third-quarter move and tucked the pocket but was 2nd best. Can atone with similar but earlier move.
FIGHT NOT FLIGHT (NW2/2YOF) filly wire the field impressively and would be no surprise.
BETTHEBEACH YANKEE (STALLION) tucked, got shuffled, tipped the final turn at 78-1 and finished full of pace.
GRAVITATIONAL (STALLION) tucked early, rallied late was half length short.
Monday, August 7
RIOT (CLM15000) rushed up to the half at 15-1, challenged the favorite, but tired. A better timed move might be all it takes.
WALL STREET LADY (NW2FM) showed some solid late foot from third over and should not be overlooked.
ALEXAS SUNSHINE (NW2FM) challenged the pace the final quarter and proved best with strong finish to defeat the odds-on favorite convincingly.
WOODSIE EMILEAH (NW9500M) wired the field to the last step at 15-1 getting nailed on the wire. May be tighter in next so do not overlook.
Tuesday, August 8
SOUTHWIND BANSHEE (NW2/2YOF) was bet to the max and lived up to the expectation with a wire to wire romp and should score more here and there.
STEALING (CLMHCP25/30000) finished full of trot to just miss at 22-1 in 4-horse photo.
SIMON GOT LUCKY (CLMHCP25/30000) was bothered just enough in the final turn but almost got it all with rousing finish in same race as the above.
BETTE TIME (NW2800M) tucked early, tipped into the lane with solid finish but as second on the board and in the photo with frontrstepping winning favorite.
