Pocono: Horses to watch from August 31 - September 3
Saturday, August 31
TEXICAN N (CLMHCP20/25000) yielded, retook, met pressure and was a handy winner. Can and will win another here or there and sooner than later.
KEYSTONE SERGEANT (NW3000) came uncovered, ducked in heading home with aim but broke. Should get another look and will be ready to take a win.
TACT TATE N (NW13000) was a distant 4th over heading home, finished wide and late and could get luckier with a better trip.
REDBANK BLAZE A (NW6000) even-money second choice tucked early, brushed to the top, set the pace with the odds-on favorirte in the pocket and proved second best in the lane.
Sunday, September 1
PRIVACY HANOVER (NW4FM) sat in to the lane, tipped and started to move but got in tight and had to veer off course, righted and closed with pace.
ODDS ON CLEARWATER (NW4FM) got caught third over in poor flow, rallied wide the final turn and flattened a bit at nearly 60-1. Could get luckier with better trip or lesser company.
EXPLOSIVEBREAKAWAY (NW7) closed strong from third over and just missed.
CRAZYCAT (NW3000) closed wide, late and fast to nail it in the last strides. Would be no suprise if there is another win on the horizon.
Monday, September 2
QUARTER BLUE CHIP (NW1FM) grinded to the lead, set a good clip and was a handy winner.
SHOES GALORE (NW1FM) was second best chasing the top one home in last outing.
FOREVER FAY (NW1) tucked to the quarrer, pulled brushed to the top, put away last quarter pressure and held gamely but was nipped by the late flying winner. Beaten favorite can atone in next.
AMERICAN KRONOS (NW6000) took the top, yielded, retook and drew off for handy score.
YOUCANIKNOW (NW6000) tucked early, tipped into traffic, rallied gamely but late between horses and earns a look in next.
Tuesday, September 3
CATCHA LEFTY A (NW3000) flashed some solid late foot through the lane and earns a look in next.
BELIEVE IN ME (NW6000) battled uncovered a long way and could not get by while holding gamely for second. A better trip could be all it takes.
BETABCOOL N (NW9000M) rallied 4 wide in the final turn at 40-1 but just missed.
BIG BILL BREEZE (NW6000) tucked, sat pocket, rallied gamely and was a game second splitting the two favorites in the win photo.
