Pocono: Horses to watch from August 29 - Sept. 1, 2026
:quality(75))
Saturday, August 29
SIMON SAYS HANOVER (CLM20000) was third over and closed well to get up for 3rd over a track that was favorable to front-steppers.
GINGER TREE LEX (W6-8) well-bet second favorite rallied around the weak, tucked the final turn, hit another gear heading home and won going away.
CAPTAIN BATBOY (CLM15000) was moving fastest of all through the lane but had far to come. Maybe next time?
JOEMIKIYOURSOFINE (NW8500) was shut out of the pocket by the eventual winner, challenged to the three quarters, took the lead, met immediate pressure, tired but deserves a look in next.
PA LUKE (W3-5) saved and closed well up the rail in latest.
SAWYERS DESIRE (CLM15000) barn won one race by open lengths. This battler challenged the pace from the half to the wire, wore down the pacesetter but was outkicked by the tripped-out pocket sitting favorite. He should pick up a win in next.
BE DAZZLED LOU A (NW15500) same barn, similar fate. Battled the pace to the lane, put away the leader but was nailed by the late rally of the third-over favorite. Should be hard to beat with a better trip.
Monday, August 31
HEY PORTER (WO25000) lost cover of the eventual winner (his odds-on stablemate) when the lead changed, rallied well and was second best. Should get it done next time out.
FROMAKINGTOAQUEEN (CLMLHCP75/10000FM) had cover the final turn, finished well and just missed in latest.
CHEROKEE CHIEF (W3-5) tucked early, pulled past the half, challenged the pace, wore down the leader but was nailed by the pocket sitting odds-on favorite.
PRETTY EYES N LIES (NW1FM) brushed to the third call, took over and opened up an impressive winner.
IMAGINE HEAVEN (NW5500M) tucked, brushed and held easily under some late taps and can take another.
Tuesday, September 1
ERIN (CLMHCP125/15000) was parked the mile, challenged all the way in game effort getting nailed on the wire.
JACKIE MOON (CLM7500) sat in and looked to be more than ready, managed to tip free heading home and finished strong to second to the tripped-out winning favorite.
HUGH HESTON (CLMHCP125/15000) trailed with no interest. Barn has been making some money and do not overlook this horse.
ETERNAL LIGHT (2YOF) odds-on favorite wired the field and barn can always take another.
TOM SWIFTLY (NW2500) rolled home from the back of the pack strong and won going away. Can beat better with same finish.
