Pocono: Horses to watch from August 27 - August 30
Saturday, August 27
BACKSTREET SHADOW (WO25000) rushed up to the third panel, challenged, cleared the late and won impressively.
BLACKLIGHT (CLMCHP30/40000) was a very game uncovered second in the photo at 40-1 in last.
RICH AND MISERABLE (NW17500) closed well from third over in latest and should not be ignored.
WHITECOOKIE (NW12000) put up quick numbers, put away a challenger but was nipped by the late rally of longshot winner.
Sunday, August 28
PICK A GENRE (NW4) shipped in, led field on a merry chase posting a lifetime best score.
BROOKDALE JESSIE (NW4270M) raced uncovered, challenged a long way, dug in gamely but was nailed in the last steps.
TECHYS ANGEL A (NW17501M) favorite won going away after ideal pocket trip and would be no surprise if she repeats.
GONNAHAVEONEMORE (NW6000) made a good move going wide to clear empty cover, chased uncovered and bears watching in next.
JUXTA COWGIRL (NW7000M) went to the front and held well only losing to the tripped-out odds-on favorite.
Monday, August 29
CONCUR (NW4800) was uncovered a long time prompting the pace and was second best at the end in game effort.
ITS SO FLUFFY (NW4000) was the victim of a brutal trip, going wide early, getting parked pressing the pace set by the odds on favorite and tired by the lane.
NEVER MIND N (NW2500) destroyed the field in widening with every stride finish and should take at least one more.
BET ON BUTER (2YO/NW2) was bet to favorite in debut, rallied the final turn, challenged the abused pacesetter and won going away. Bet like a winner and everything went his way. One can see him being good enough to take another.
DIG THAT CURVE (NW1) beaten favorite lost cover in the final turn but rallied gamely to get up for second to the well bet second choice. Could atone in next with a little racing luck.
Tuesday, August 30
TIMES LIKE THESE (NW2/2YO) set his own clip and held gamely. Can take another and will give it a shot.
KINGPIN HANOVER (NW2/2YO) closed well from second over chasing the top one in the late stages and will find some wins.
ON THE HOUSE (NW2/2YOF) went to the top, set the pace under pressure to the final turn and was a handy winner in debut.
STONEBRIDGE KARIS (NW5) put up quick numbers in wire to wire romp.
