Pocono: Horses to watch from August 25 - August 30

Ken Walters|Sep 01, 2015

Tuesday, August 25

CELEBRITY ARTEMIS (NW3FM) left and was seated, sat pocket but was shuffled with the winner brushed, cleared inside, closed well but the winner had gotten the jump.

OLD MAN CLEARY (NW1) second favorite went to the lead, yielded, retook, set the pace and was nailed on the wire by the odds-on favorite.

K RYAN BLUECHIP (Stallion) won by a country mile and could become a Pocono legend if he continues to win this easily.

ANGS DELIGHT (Stallion) was victimized by being behind a quitting horse as the strong strides of the winner made it impossible to get close but was more than willing once free.

Wednesday, August 26

BREATHTAKING (NW125/15000M) made a bold move to challenge but had moved too soon and tired. Comes from smart barn and can not be ignored.

MILLIGANS SCHOOL (PaSS) found a winning stride but a few steps too late. Beaten favorite can turn it back around and earns looks in next.

ZOOMING (NW13000) beaten favorite left and tucked, pulled and chased, challenged in the final turn, had the lead but was nailed by a fresher foe.

THIRTY X (NW3FM) three-move winners should be followed and will take another sooner than later.

Friday, August 28

SKYWAY CRUISER (NW3000) set the pace to the last steps and earns another look on a more speed favoring night.

WAYNE THE LEFTY (NW3000) brushed, crushed and will be hard to deny in next outing.

ASHLAKE (CLMHCP125/15000) closed a ton at 23-1 but a second too late in last. Had too far to come but cannot be ignored.

BOBBIES CRUISER (NW4500) beaten favorite tucked twice into the pocket along the way but could not muster enough to catch the pacesetting second favorite.

Saturday, August 29

MAYTIME TERROR (CLM25000) put up the numbers and never looked back in down the road easy win.

DINNER GUEST (CLM10000) sat pocket and was second best. Well trained pacer is ever ready to land a good check.

DOCS TEBOW (NW22500) closed strong but too late in last and can be expected to try that again soon.

BIGTOWN HERO (NW22500) set the pace and held off the pocketsitting favorite.

Sunday, August 30

HERE COMES SWIFTY (NW3000) lived up to his name in last as his strong rally and the leader's faltering steps brought about the upset of a prohibitive pacesetting favorite.

LINDYSBATHINBEAUTY (NW3000M) tucked early, pulled to the third panle, challenged the pace and wore down the speed but was nailed by a fresher second over late closing foe.

MR CANDYMAN and CAJOLE HANOVER (NW5500) were both used hard, battled the length of the stretch and 'Candy' proved stronger but the rest of the field was far back. Either of these two can take another with a fair trip.

POINT OF HONOUR (NW3500) was much the best in last and should be tough to overhaul with similar effort even if facing better.
