Pocono: Horses to watch from August 25 - August 28

Ken Walters|Aug 31, 2018

Saturday, August 25

SWEET TALKIN SATIN (NW9000) showed strong late speed on a night favoring early speed and just missed. Lukewarm beaten favorite has to be considered in next.

SKYWAY BOOMER (CLMHCP15/20000) was uncovered a long way, battled the well-bet second choie, seemed to give it up, took a pocket tuck in the final turn and came on again but could not get there. Beaten favorite will not meet that kind of resistance in next.

YS LOTUS (NW7500) went down the road and was a handy winner.

TACO TUESDAY (NW13500) was parked a long way, settled to the pocket past the half and was second best.

Sunday, August 26

BLUE IVY (NW1FM) put a hurt on her foes crushing the variant in last with quick, handy score and will take more.

SHAKE THAT HOUSE (NW1) beaten favorite had far to come following wide the final turn with fast-footed finish to just miss.

CRITICAL MASS (NW3000) was a ridiculously easy winner in last and drew away powerfully.

PENPAL (NW22500M) finished full of pace from third over to be second best on the board and on the track.

Monday, August 27

FUTURE LIFE (CLMHCP10/12500) tucked early, pulled uncovered, rallied gamely at 7-1 and was second best to the favorire.

CADILLAC CRUISER (NW6500) finished fast inside at nearly 10-1 and earns some respect in next.

DRILL QUEEN (NW2FM) trotter put in a quick number to the quarter, yielded, got shuffled, rallied late in quick quarter to just miss at 90-1.

SERIOUS SAVANNAH (NW3100) yielded, got shuffled and stuck behind a fading foe. Finished full of trot losing in the photo.

Tuesday, August 28

MIKEY LIKES IT (NW4) took a tuck to the quarter, inherited the distant pocket into the lane, rallied gamely and just missed.

KEYSTONE APACHE (NW4) beaten favorite charged home from third over to get up over all but the winner. Should atone in quick order.

STRAWBS CHIPPIE N (NW6000FM) tucked early, pulled to the third panel, rushed wide, closed well at 17-1 but the favorite pacesetter was not to be caught.

VILLA VALO (NW6500) went down the road quickly and was a safe best and should give it another try.
