Pocono: Horses to watch from August 24 - August 27
Saturday, August 24
FRISKIE ALL NITE (NW2800) yielded, retook, weakened and was second best to the impressive 3-move well-bet second choice and would be no surprise.
FLASHY SWEN (NW4400) rushed up the third panel at nearly 90-1, challenged to the lane, tired but that move could be more rewarding in next race or two.
ALTUS HANOVER (NW4400) rushed to the lead, yielded and was shuffled, raced 2nd over the final quarter and just missed in game effort.
DA DELIGHTFUL (NW10500) tucked the pocket, got stuck in as the speed yielded and caved, tipped late and closed well to be second on the board and on the track. Better luck...next time?
VENGEANCE BLUECHIP (PaSS) youngster wheeled around the track in quick order slapping a :26 4/5 last panel on the board.
I DID IT MYWAY (NW22500) was parked to the half, gained the lead, put up some wicked numbers in impressive score.
Sunday, August 25
HAND OVER DAN (NW11000) lukewarm second choice to odds-on stablemate was parked to the lead, yielded, got shuffled passing third call, rallied up the inside to be second best to aforementioned stablemate.
SHANWAY N (NW4401) was buried on the rail, tipped the final turn, followed the wide flow, ducked in late and closed well but too late.
JE SUIS CASH S (NW1) youngster trotted up a storm and was much the best in front-end romp.
BULLVILLESPANDEMIC (NW2900) followed the wide flow from 4th over and just missed.
Monday, August 26
PERFECT WAGER (NW2/2-3YO) was uncovered to the third panel, took a couple of bumpy steps, broke, took back, rallied late and just missed.
AGGIEORNAMENTO (NW6750) went to the top, faced long pressure from a parked out 77-1 shot, put that one away, battled with the challenged of another foe the final turn, lost the lead heading home and tired.
PONDAS MUSCLE MAN (NW1300) trotter rallied late at over 50-1 and deserves a look in next race or two.
WHAT ABOUT BOB (CLMHCP75/1000) was parked, grinded up, gained cover, gapped to the lane, rallied gamely despite tiring and was in the three-horse photo for place.
FEAST DAY (NW2800) broke leaving, took back to the rear, pulled to the third panel and closed well from 3rd over. Do not overlook.
ROYSONSMONIGIRL (NW2FM) tucked early and looked like she was ready to go at any time, pulled past the half, blew by and was all wrapped up at a whopping 46-1. Won't be the same price (LOL) but she wins again.
Tuesday, August 27
GENTRIFY (NW4FM) broke before the start, recovered quickly, raced second over and closed well to be second. Beaten favorite could score in next.
BARN CREDIT (NW2) left to the top, yielded, sat pocket, rallied well at 8-1 but was second best to the winning favorite.
ENDOFSTORY (W4-7) tried wire to wire as the second choice in last but was outfinished by the uncovered favorite.
PEDAL ON METAL (NW4400) odds-on favorite closed well but a neck too late in last from second over and would be no surprise.
