Pocono: Horses to watch from August 18 - August 21

Ken Walters|Aug 23, 2018

Saturday, August 18

FEELING CAM LUCKY (NW17500) was parked the mile at 18-1, challenged to the lane and tired. Obviously a better trip can get him home.

BELL I NO (NW9200) was 4th over and far back and flowed wide, stacked wider and closed a ton to just miss.

TAP INTO POWER (CLM15000) was parked uncovered, challenged to the stretch and tired.

HIGHALATOR (GREAT NE OPEN) rushed to the top, set a hot clip under determined pressure, shook off the challenger but was nailed by the late closing tripped-out second-over favorite.

Sunday, August 19

SOBORO HANOVER (NW3000) went down the road and was second best to the pocketsitting odds-on favorite.

NICHOLAS BEACH (NW1) pulled around traffic, tucked the pocket to the third panel and closed strong to win going away.

URBAN RENEWAL (NW3000) very well bet second choice was used to the lead, yielded and sat pocket, gamed out the win to nail the favorite.

KREDIT KARMA (NW1) put in a solid down the road effort but tired in the late stages. Beaten favorite will be tighter and will hold it in next race or two.

Monday, August 20

LYONS JENNIELEE (NW2FM) was an impressive front-stepping winner in last and should take another win or two in near future.

RISKY ROMANCE (CLMHCP10/12500FM) closed a ton from who knows where in last and just missed.

ELLA ROSE (CLMHCP15/20000M) brushed and crushed and looked to have plenty left.

BARON CHANCEY (NW3) was parked uncovered, chased to the lane and tired. A better trip should be more rewarding.

Tuesday, August 21

SEISMIC WAVE (NW4) rushed up from the back, reached cover, wheeled wide and charge home to win going away.

LAZURUS (NW9000) was used to the lead, set a pressed pace, held gamely but tired and was passed by the tripped out second over horse.

CARLY GIRL (NW4FM) finished with huge stretch kick to finish third in in the photo.

SAMMY THE BULL N (NW6500) trailed to the third panel, hit the accelerator, stormed between trailers, angled wide and closed a ton.
