Pocono: Horses to watch from August 17 - August 20
Saturday, August 17
SOIREE HANOVER (DELMONICA) got away well, gave up the pocket, sat to the third panel, pulled, challenged and won going away.
NUMBER CRUNCHER (HEMPT) left, broke, took back, raced 4th over the final turn and finished well. Beaten favorite should atone in quick order.
FRENCH CHAMPAGNE (DELMONICA) raced uncovered, chase, rallied late to earn second to her stablemate and should get a prize or two in near future.
SIG SAUER (BEAL) gutted out the win in last and should score more.
PERICULUM (SEBASTIAN) challenged uncovered the last quarter but weakened in to the lane while still finishing third in the photo.
LEXUS KODY (SEBASTIAN) was parked to the lead, met pressure, dug in to be second to the tripped-out prohibitive favorite.
Sunday, August 18
BELLISSIMO FACE S (W4-7) wired the field and was a handy winner and can do it again.
STONE HANOVER (NW13500) was a three-move winner and should be tough to ignore.
CONGRESSIONAL (NW13500) yielded, got shuffled, closed well inside to earn 2nd place to the above foe.
WHERES LARRY (NW2FM) sat pocket and was second best to the prohibitive pacesetting speedy favorite.
Monday, August 19
INTERNATIONAL GIFT (NW4) was parked, grinded up, gained cover, still had some gas left at the end. Should be tighter in next and would be no shocker.
CHOCO CHARLIE (NW1300) bet like he was going to romp, he lived up to the money. Left, tucked, pulled past the half, brushed to the lead and waved goodbye. Can beat better.
TISADREAM N (CLM7500) tucked to the quarter, pulled past the half, challenged the favorite, wore him down but was nailed by the late-closing second-over second favorite.
SERENAS GIRL (STALLION) brushed early and humbled the field in open-length romp over the sloppy track.
Tuesday, August 20
WAY TO GO CAPTAIN (NW4) closed stoutly from third over in last and should nail a win soon.
HIGHLY MOTIVATED (NW2) tucked early, raced second over to the favorite, closed well to just miss in the 3-horse photo.
AMILYN HOLDO (NW2FM) went off at over 30-1, raced second over to the prohibitive favorite was second best at the wire.
ETHEREUM (NW2FM) was out the final turn from far back and passed a plethora of foes to get up for 3rd and bears watching.
PUT OPTION HANOVER (NW2) well-bet second choice broke at the start, settled, put in a quick move from the half to third call, challenged to the lane before tiring.
