Pocono: Horses to watch from August 13 - August 16
Saturday, August 13
MINDTRIP (CLMHCP30/40000) beaten favorite was parked all the way, gained cover, then was third over, rallied gamely but was only second as the tripped-out pocket-sitting winner closed strongest.
OWEN (CLMHCP20/25000) sat 3 holed behind tiring pocket horse, found room into the lane finishing with good pace.
PREMIER ROCKSTAR (CLMHCP20/25000) beaten favorite raced 3rd over ,followed wide, stacked wider, finished well and just missed the pocket-sitting winner.
DA DELIGHTFUL (NW17500) was at the back of the pack, weaved through traffic along the way, found an inside route heading home and finished full of pace.
Sunday, August 14
BAY BRUTE (NW4) was shut out of the early pocket, raced parked, challenged, the pocket opened at third panel, took the tuck but then had some traffic in the lane as the leader tired. Could get it done with better racing luck.
NAUTICAL HANOVER (NW4) prohibitive favorite went wide around cover, rallied to the leader, cruised by.
THE STUNNING NUN N (N9100M) well-bet second choice was wide twice in good effort chasing the favorite's pace and was second at the wire.
TIMES LIKE THESE (STALLION) was parked, grinded and tired. Do not ignore in next.
DRAKE HANOVER (STALLION) finished full of trot at nearly 10-1 but had too far to come.
Monday, August 15
CREEMORE (NW2500) shipped in, wired the field and should take another.
CHINA CHING LUCKY (NW4000) rallied four wide but just missed.
REVS N A RUCKUS (CLM7500) dropped and popped with huge finish and would be no surprise.
VAGAS ROCKS (CLM7500) well-bet second choice made a strong move to the lead but was no match the huge rally of the winning favorite. Same move might be enough in next effort.
FRAZZLEBERRY (NW4) yielded, retook, put away a last-turn challenger and wheeled away easily.
Tuesday, August 16
FASHION CANTAB (NW2) shipped in off a win and took another on a wire to wire score and should go for number three in next.
BLENHEIM (NW12500) veteran brushed and crushed as he faced weaker foes but and won so easily he has to be considered again.
UNIQUE STYLE (NW2/2YO) was parked to the lead but that was the ball game as he wired the field impressively.
TEAM MAC (NW6) well-bet second choice followed the winner between horses in tight as a drum stretch and could get luckier in next.
TRENTS A LOCK (NW2500) tipped late final turn and closed well to earn a look in next.
