Pocono: Horses to watch from Aug. 31 - Sept. 3

Ken Walters|Sep 06, 2024

Saturday, August 31

JIVE NINETY FIVE (NW4400) took the lead at 36-1, yielded to the favorite's retake and was second best throughout.

SWEET SHUNEY MOON (CLM25000) rallied wide from third over around a weak outer flow, gained late gain and could get better trip in next.

MAKE IT EASY (NW2800) rallied the last turn and could be a factor if he moves earlier.

DEALINE HALL (W4-7) was in tight leaving and broke, rallied back, got in tight again as another broke, managed to survive all the drama and be second in scattered field. An uneventful trip might get it done.

COMBUSTION (NW13500) beaten favorite had poor cover racing second over, wheeled wide, gained late and can atone in next.

Monday, September 2

PEACH COCKTAIL (NW2/2YOF) avoided big trouble from a breaker, rallied and won going away.

IRNOREWHATTHEYSAY (NW2/2YO) well bet second favorite tucked the pocket and was second best to the favorite at every call.

SANTAFES GINA (NW2/2YOF) tucked, pulled and rushed up uncovered, challenged the pace but backed off second best in latest.

OLIVE AND A TWIST (NW1) took the lead, yielded to the third panel, tipped and blew by heading home.

Tuesday, September 3

LINDSEYS PRIDE (CLMHCP15/20000) was parked a long way to the lead, met pressure the last quarter and tired. A better trip could get it done.

FIGHT NOT FLIGHT (NW4FM) took the top, yielded, sat pocket to the lane, rallied well but was outfinished by the winner's uncovered move.

EDWARD PALEMA S (NW4) brushed to the lead, put away a challenger and was a handy winner.

WARRAWEE BROOKE (NW2FM) brushed early, set a pressed pace and was a handy winner.

FLYING KRONOS S (NW2) wired the field drawing off as much the best.
