Pocono: Horses to watch from Aug. 26 - Aug. 29

Ken Walters|Aug 31, 2017

Saturday, August 26

IDEAL LEGACY A (CLM12500) was shuffled back, rallied strong between horses through the lane and just missed.

REGALANTHROPIST (CLM10000) tucked early, came uncovered, challenged the odds-on favorite and was a game nose shy at the wire.

HICKORY LITTLE RED (CLM10000) left like a shot to the top, yielded and was shuffled, slipped out at the third call and rallied gamely for second.

ANDY RAY (NW17500) had poor cover and was forced to go wide, closed well and looked like he could pick up a win soon.

Sunday, August 27

JUMPING JAKE (NW1) pulled to the half, brushed, set a good pace and proved best.

SAILER EDDIE (NW3000) set the pace under pressure and dug in but could not last as the second-over favorite closed on him.

EDDARD HANOVER (NW7) well bet second choice was on the front end and pressed a long way only to be overtaken by the tripped out pocket sitting favorite.

CULINARY DELIGHT (NW3000) set the pace under pressure two times and was dead game in four-horse photo.

Monday, August 28

UNCLE HANOVER (NW6000) took an early tuck, pulled to the half third over, swung wide in the third panel, cleared, challenged and rolled home and should be the one to beat in next.

SONOFAMILLIONAIRE (2YO) wired the field convincingly and will be in the hunt once more.

MOOSE MADNESS (NW6000) left, took the top, yielded, sat pocket and was second best at every call with game finish.

STAR STUDDED CAST (CLM15000) tucked, got shuffled as the pocket horse gave way, found room inside with strong finish at 74-1.

Tuesday, August 29

MAJOR PEPPER (NW3) flew home through the lane and earns a long look in next.

SERGEANT SEELSTER (NW9000) left and tucked, raced second over and closed well and would be no surprise.

CASEY HANOVER (2YO) tucked earlly, brushed to the top at 14-1 as the speed settled, dug in gamely but was nailed by the uncovered favorite.

BRING ME DIAMONDS (NW3100M) was out early and looking for the lead but met stubborn resistance and was able to finally gain the top past the third panel and tired. Beaten favorite should atone in quick order.
