Pocono: Horses to watch from April 8 - April 11

Ken Walters|Apr 14, 2023

Saturday, April 8

CAPTAIN COWBOY (W4-7) well-bet second choice was used to the top, yielded to the retake of the odds-on favorite and proved second best at every call.

GHOST SHARK (WEISS) was second in first start of the year in quick mile.

MONI BOOK (WEISS) won in front-stepping jog for second in row.

MYSTICAL WYNNN (NW12000) was a jogburger winner in quick mile.

RIFLEMAN (NW9000) tucked early, got shuffled to third, pulled uncovered and chased the well-bet second choice in good effort and bears watching.

Sunday, April 9

ON THE MONEY GB (NW4FM) well-bet second choice lost the favored winner's cover, rallied all out but was second best.

SHADOW ONE (NW2700M) had an early tuck, raced third over from the half, ducked to the rail into the lane with strong finish but just missed to the pocket-sitting favorite.

TNT BLUE CHIP (W4-7) yielded, retook and won impressively to score 4th straight win.

DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE (NW2700) looked good on the front-end romp and would be no surprise if she wins again.

BUSBOY HANOVER (CLMHCP20/25000) veteran won 6th straight and should be considered til he loses.

Monday, April 10

SWEET HOME (WEISS) tucked, got shuffled, sat the three-hole, slipped out into the lane and finished fast to nail win in first race of the year.

WENTWORTH HANOVER (NW1) left well, took the top and was shuffled back, rallied gamely in the lane and just missed.

C IS FOR COOKIE (WEISS) brushed when speed settled and went down the road from there to take another.

AMERICAN CRISPIN (WEISS) yielded twice and sat pocket second best to the above filly.

Tuesday, April 11

SIMON GOT LUCKY (CLAIMS) brushed wide to the half to clear dead cover, took the top and was a handy winner.

CANT SAY NO (CLAIMS) was parked the mile and challenged a long way. Wore down the speed and held gamely in impressive score.

MANOFMANYMUSCLES (CLAIMS) tucked, brushed and crushed last time out.

DIEHARD SEELSTER (CLAIMS) came second over the final turn and won going away.
