Pocono: Horses to watch from April 6 - April 9

Ken Walters|Apr 10, 2019

Saturday, April 6

SOHO WALLSTREET A (NW225000) wheeled wide into the lane and closed well. Do not overlook in next race or two.

BUNKNDUNK (CLM15000) was wide in the final turn from third over clearing a breaker and just miss getting nipped by tripped-out pocket sitting winner.

NIGHT CLUB HANOVER (CLM20000) was pressed hard early, put the challenger away, faced the pocket horses challenge the last panel and held gamely getting caught late.

BETTER B ROLLING (NW9500) took the top, yielded and was shuffled, brushed to the top, set a pressed pace and held to the last step before also getting nailed by the tripped-out pocketsitter.

Sunday, April 7

MARC MELLOW MAN (NW4) sat to the rear, closed well and bears watching.

HYBRID HEIDI (CLM7500) put in a solid down the road effort at 15-1 but was nailed on the wire.

WILDCAT HILTON (NW3300) was parked the mile, challenged all the way and tired but should not be overlooked.

MAJOR BUCKS (NW6000) won going away in uncovered effort and should take another soon.

Monday, April 8

ROCK DIAMONDS N (NW3000) yielded, retook and wired the field in his American debut looking good to the wire.

SIMPLY SUSATIONAL N (NW3000) was looped to the lead, tucked into the turn, pulled and rallied uncovered, tucked the pocket and chased the very impressive winner home and was second best at 20-1.

SPRINGBANK SAM N (CLM10000) let the speed settle, brushd to the top, set the pace on a wide open lead and was much the best. Will be a factor for a few or more so do not discount.

CON AIR HALL (NW4000) yielded, retook and faced some pressure, shook it off and drew off.

Tuesday, April 9

CLOUDBREAK (NW1) brushed and crushed in huge effort breaking maiden and will be hard to beat in next race or two.

ICY IYG (NW4000) got away badly, settled and motored from the back putting in a fast last 3/8 rallying around dead ones, ducking to the rail and finishing full of pace. Beaten favorite cannot be ignored in next.

EYORE HANOVER (NW3000) wired the field in what seemed to be just a workout to nail first time this year and should win again.

ELLA CHRISTINA (NW12500M) well-bet second choice made a bold move to challenge, took over and gutted it out but was a nose short to the slight favorite and bears watching.
