Pocono: Horses to watch from April 5 - April 8

Ken Walters|Apr 11, 2025

Saturday, April 5

KOOTENAY SANTANA (CLM20000) was third over, stacked 4-wide and won going away with powerful stretch rally over the sloppy track.

SONOFABUSIENSSMAN (WEISS) took the lead, yielded and was shuffled, cleared inside heading home with good rally and just missed.

RUSTY BEACGH (NW4) sat last in short field, moved in the final turn, went wide and closed well but much too late.

BARLEY A TEASE (CLM20000) was the easiest kind of winner pulling away by nearly 15 at the end.

FINITE (W4-7) was wide a long way but kept coming. Beaten favorite would be no surprise.

ODDS ON NO LIMIT (WEISS) finished fast but late in 2nd round action and should be a factor in next few efforts.

Monday, April 7

SUGAR BRITCHES (CLMHCPM) finished fast from third over to gain a well-earned win and will be heard from again.

GONE COASTAL (NW2900M) showed some solid late pace in last rallying from the back of the pack and earns a look in next race or two.

MACHS LEGACY A (NW2900M) hit the rim, rushed up fast from the half to the third pane, challenged to the lane before tiring. A better-timed move might get it done.

TE QUIERO LINDY (WEISS) tucked early, brushed to the third panel, took over and drew off.

GILDA BI (WEISS) brushed from the half, gained the lead and blew away the field by headstretch.

TURN ON THE CHARM (W4-7FM) was parked the mile, challenged all the way and was a game winner but was taken down. Should get a better trip in next race or two.

TIE THE KNOT (NW1FM) filly brushed and crushed winning as she pleased.

Tuesday, April 8

SOUTHWID ARTURO (NW9600) finished full of trot from far back in last and could it done with better trip.

ALTUS HNOVER (CLAIMS) went down the road much the best in his division.

VEGAS TICKET (CLAIMS) brushed to the lead passing the third call and was an easy winner in division.

CHIPLOSIVE (CLAIMS) made a long uncovered bid chasing the well-bet second choice but was second best at 10-1 in his division.

NOB HILL FLASH (NW4400) challenged the early leader, inherited a new leader when the early leader broke, challenged that one to the lane before tiring. Better racing luck could get this one in the winner's circle.

CHAMBA (CLAIMS) finished with good trot from third over in his division to be second best at the end.
