Pocono: Horses to watch from April 29 - May 2

Ken Walters|May 05, 2023

Saturday, April 29

NEWSY N (NW6500M) was parked the mile, challenged the pace and gutted it out but nailed by the pocket-sitting tripped-out winner.

LETS RYDE GIRL (NW6500M) sat in traffic when it counted, angled out and finished late.

DILLINGER (CLMHCP20/25000) was on the rail and was shuffled back behind a quitting pocket horse, finished late but just missed the pacesetting favorite.

FRANK THE ELDER (W4-7) brushed the final turn and was an impressive winner.

KILOWATT KID N (NW9000) came wide, rallied determinedly and got it done in game effort.

Sunday, April 30

LIKE A WARRIOR (NW1) won going away from second over to nail maiden win in first race of the year.

PARK STREET BLUES (NW1) finished full of pace from third over to be second best on the wire and should get the gold soon.

DING DONG DINGER (CLMHCP20/25000) yielded, retook and was a handy front-stepping winner in last.

SOUTHWIND MOROCCAN (NW2800) had the cover of the winning prohibitive favorite and just missed.

Monday, May 1

HEISONTHEHUNT (NW2) saved with good late pace up the inside and was second in the photo to the prohibitive favorite.

SHARKY BEAR (CLM15000) brushed to the half and was much the best.

BUDWEISTER GIRL (NW2FM) got shuffled by lead changes and breakers, finished well and earns a look.

BINGO BRAIN (NW1FM) beaten favorite broke early, settled and rallied back to get for third and might atone in next.

Tuesday, May 2

HALL IT OFF (NW9000) rallied wide the final turn to cleared a stalled foe and was second best to the winning favorite.

QUIT FAST (WEISS) was parked the mile grinding away at 38-1 to the lane before tiring.

IM AMUSED (WEISS) left to the top, yielded for the pocket, moved to the lead as speed folded and was wrapped up through the lane.

SAINT LOUIS (NW1) yielded, retook and was an impressive winner in maiden-breaking score.

TIPSY MONI (NW4) closed stoutly to win going away and could take another.
