Pocono: Horses to watch from April 24 - April 27

Ken Walters|Apr 29, 2021

Saturday, April 24

PALOMAR (NW6300) rallied around dead cover, cleared, gained new cover passing the third call and closed gamely but was second best.

BANK BOX TREASURE (NW6000) was parked a long way challenging before grabbing the lead but tired.

REVELRY (NW6300) brushed as the speed settled, met pressure to the lane but drew off to win by daylight.

JACKS SHADOW N (NW22500) had cover, rallied wide as cover tired and closed with good pace at 27-1 to be second on the wire.

Sunday, April 25

ICINGON DE CUPCAKE (NW6200) had tiring cover, rallied wide a long ways and tired.

DURANT (CLM7500) followed wide and closed well from third over and just missed.

MOON BRIDGE (NW9000) rallied in the final turn, ducked to the open pocket, had aim in the late stages but took a bad step.

MAJOR BATTLE (NW9000M) rallied wide and late but got in the photo. Do not ignore in next.

Monday, April 26

QUEEN Z TAM (NW1FM) tipped, came uncovered, rallied gamely, looked like she was going by but made what looked like a speed break in the last steps.

CAPTAINANDTELLY (NW1FM) was used to the lead and pressed a long way, dug in but was nailed by the tripped-out winner. Beaten favorite can atone with a better trip.

TYSON (CLMCHP125/15000) was pressed the mile, shook off the challenger and drew off.

FULL MOON BEACH (NW1) won going away in latest. Barn is sharp and another win is quite probable.

Tuesday, April 27

TRAY SURREAL (NW4) yielded twice, sat pocket and was jammed up when the lead changed, escaped the jam but took some steps clearing to make a third move, rallied but tired late.

TRUFFLES TOO (NW2) tucked early, pulled to the third panel, came uncovered and won wrapped-up in first start of the year.

DEWEY ARNOLD (NW2) wired the field drawing away impressively.

MELANIA (NW2FM) came uncovered and trumped her foes going away in one of the three impressive winners on the card for trainer Butenschoen.

NORTHERN SKYWAY (CLMHCP20/25000) closed gamely at 25-1 to finish second to the favorite.
