Pocono: Horses to watch from April 2 - April 4
Saturday, April 2
EL TORO LOCO (WEISS) yielded, retook and was a handy winner in first-leg action.
BEER CHEESE (WEISS) rallied wide the last quarter to be second best at 42-1.
CAPTAIN MULZAC (CLMHCP30/40000) tucked to the quarter, pulled uncovered to the third panel and grinded up in game rally to just miss to the odds-on favorite.
BROADWAY ATHENA (NW20000) raced 2nd over and flashed some solid late foot but had too far to come.
Sunday, April 3
ELLEOFADELI (NW3000M) was out briefly but went inside for the drive and just missed to the pacesetting favorite.
BORN A REBEL (NW1) granted, speed was ruling on this evening but he wired the field drawing away easily and should take another.
UNCLE JORD A (NW9000) finished full of pace from 3rd over and bears watching.
GIBOR (NW1) went wide around dead cover, cleared and battled uncovered but was necked by the pocket-sitting winner.
Monday, April 4
R HERBIE BLUE CHIP (CLMHCP15/20000) was a handy down the road winner on a day when speed was getting nailed and can take another.
RYCROFT N (CLM15000) was another front-stepping winner on the same card and bears watching.
SOME KINDA ANGEL (WEISS) came up uncovered, wore down the speed at 25-1 but was second best to the tripped-out well-bet second choice.
SUNSHINE SALLY (WEISS) left, tucked, tipped in the final turn and rallied gamely to nail it at 16-1 and might take another.
