Pocono: Horses to watch from April 17 - April 20

Ken Walters|Apr 22, 2021

Saturday, April 17

P L MUNSON (CLMHCP30/40000) tucked early, sat in and closed quickly along the inside at nearly 9-1 to just miss the odds-on pacesetting favorite.

NATIVES SWEETLOU (CLMHCP30/40000) got away well, pulled passing the half, wheeled wide, cleared, challenged and had aim but faltered in the late stages. Beaten favorite can atone with better trip.

TRENTE DEO (NW6000) lost cover but rallied smartly to win going away and should be right there in next.

STELLAR YANKEE (WEISS) flashed some good late foot at over 20-1 and bears watching.

BRAVO TEX N (NW9000) trailed to the lane, rallied strong from 3rd over and should not be overlooked.

Sunday, April 18

GIVEN UP TERROR (CLM10000) was sitting on the rail, tipped in the final turn rushed home to win going away.

NEWS WATCH (CLM7500) rallied full of pace up the rail in latest at almost 30-1 and earns a long look in next.

GREAT UNKNOWN (NW11000) came uncovered and won going away. Comes from barn that just seems to win wherever the horse is entered.

CONSUS VICTORY (NW6000) was third over and hit best stride a bit too late. Beaten favorite should not be discounted.

Monday, April 19

SPECTACULAR ROCK (CLM7500) took the lead, yielded and was mildly shuffled, pulled uncovered and won totally wrapped up.

INCASEYOUDIDNTKNOW (WEISS) tucked early, rallied uncovered and won going away despite some broken equipment.

MEETMEINTHEMIDDLE (CLMHCP125/15000) was parked a long way to the lead but it did not matter as he drew away from the field.

CRAZY COOL (NW1FM) yielded twice and was second best to the prohibitive favorite.

Tuesday, April 20

CHERRY RED (NW4) was way back in the final turn but rallied to earn 2nd place at 60-1 and bears watching.

DEWEY ARNOLD (NW2) brushed and crushed trotting away from the field.

SEVEN NATION ARMY (NW2) won going away from second over and should be tough in next.

BILLY CLYDE (NW2) three-year-old won again after grinding to the lead and seems to like the winners circle.
