Pocono: Horses to watch from April 12 - April 16

Ken Walters|Apr 19, 2014

Saturday, April 12

RACING ROCKY (CLM12500) Left to quick lead, met stern early pressure, shook it off and continued down the road in grand style and should take another.

JAGUAR BLUE CHIP (CLM10000) Tucked early, tipped heading home and rallied gamely but just missed.

SO TAKE THAT (NW21000) Saved to the lane, tipped, came wide and passed all but the winner.

COURAGEOUS CAT (CLM25000) Put in a solid down the road effort only to be overtaken by the tripped-out pocket horse and was claimed for his efforts.

Sunday, April 13

SEAWIND DROPPER (CLM7500) Had to rally around poor cover in the turn and closed well but it was too much to ask.

WHEELSANDTHELEGMAN (NW1) Broke his maiden at first asking in tremendous style.

JOLTIN COLT (CLM5000) Left well, tucked, pulled with poor cover past the half, came wide, rallied well but just missed.

NATIVE ART (NW4000) Left, tucked, pulled uncovered to the half, challenged a long way battling the wind and tired. Better trip, better reward?

Tuesday, April 15

SAND TOP GUN (NW4000) Tucked early, pulled passing the half, brushed to the top, gave way late. Beaten favorite makes the same move in next and should take top honors.

STRIKING FOREVER (CLM7500) Tucked, saved to the final turn, tipped and closed well at 33-1.

ICANDREAMCANTI (NW1/3-4YRFM) Closed a ton in last and paid a ton to her backers. Payoff may not be the same in next but the same rally can take another.

ST PETE STAR (NW7000) Followed wide to the third panel, spent a lot of time wide, hit the stretch, revved it up and powered home only to run out of track in the last steps.

Wednesday, April 16

FOX VALLEY ACTION (CLM15000) Was parked and grinded up uncovered all the way in last only to tired by the early stretch.

NOTORIUS TERROR (CLM5000M) Came wide from third over and closed gamely to get third on a night made for front end speed.

UP FRONT CRUISER (CLM15000M) Came uncovered from early on, challenged the pace the middle half weakening by early stretch.

FLYING COWBOY (CLM15000) Rallied inside with strong pace and just missed the odds-on favorite pacesetter on the wire.
