Pocono: Horses to watch from Apr. 22 - Apr. 25

Ken Walters|Apr 26, 2017

Saturday, April 22

WHOSURPAPA (CLM15000) was used long and wide in dead game effort last time finishing second at 9-1.

ROCK THREE TIMES (NW6000) rallied uncovered, challenged in the final turn, seemed beaten but rallied back to miss two necks at 15-1.

MAXI BON (NW9000) left fast to the lead, yielded to the short priced favorite, rallied through the lane at 25-1 but was second best.

JUST GOT PAID (NW3000) was uncovered a long way challenging the odds-on favorite and was proved second best on the track and on the board.

Sunday, April 23

SANTAFES COACH (NW1) crushed foes on front end in impressive time and will take another or two.

PERFECT CHAPTER AS (NW1) grinded a long way uncovered and won going away.

MCSINNERMAN (NW5) saved to the lane, tipped out mid stretch and just missed at 80-1.

ICY CRYSTALS (NW1) left, tucked, went around the quitting pocket horse in the final turn rolled home crushing the odds-on favorite.

Monday, April 24

MELANIES SHARKETTE (CLMHCP15000M) had weak cover in the final turn but closed well and should be considered in next.

JUXLIVIN MY DREAM (NW2) left, tried to make the top, had to take back and find a seat, rallied uncovered and game the last quarter and should score soon.

JESSICA LAR BAR (CLMHCP10/12500) was parked the mile, grind up uncovered and closed gamely but was second best on the track and on the board to the even money pacesetting favorite.

ATABOY HANOVER (NW2) pulled to the half, rushed up, challenged and roared by as much the best. Should take another.

Tuesday, April 25

FASHION KATIE (NW6000M) was parked to the lead, yielded to the odds-on favorites determined challenge, dug in gamely to earn second best.

YES YOU CAN (NW14000M) had far to come in last but gamed out a late rally to earn a check missing whole thing by a half.

NORMANDY BEACH (NW3) took the top, yielded, retook and proved too much the best to not mention as a probable repeat winner.

SWEET OF MY HEART (NW3FM) tucked the pocket but did not want to sit, pulled hard and tried to go to the lead, challenged the prohibitive favorite but broke. Will get better results in next race or two
