Pocono: Horses to watch from Apr. 1 - Apr. 8

Ken Walters|Apr 08, 2015

Wednesday, April 1

PAINITE (NW4500) finished boldly and gamely from back of the pack just missed pacesetting favorite at the wire in last.

HIT BY LIGHTNING (NW15000) came on strong but a few steps too late in last.

MARION MILLIONAIR (NW1FM) finished with good speed on a night when front enders were taking it all home.

ARMBRO CASINO (CLM7500) was used early and found a tuck after being parked three wide, came uncovered past the half, chased to the final turn before flattening out. A beter trip might be enough to get him home.

Saturday, April 4

NO BU (CLM15000) was uncovered a long way, challenged the determined pacesetter from the half and was a dead game winner. Well connected battler will find another win sooner or later.

SKY MCFLY (CLMHCP20/25000) was much the best in last and should be hard to beat for immediate future efforts.

NO GIN (CLM10000) came uncovered to the half, went to the leader, pressured to the lane and went by with authority.

SOUTHWIND TERROR, GREAT ARTIST and TO BEACH HIS OWN (CLMHCP25/30000) were all used, abused and game in last battle royal with varying degrees of difficulty as leaders dueled into defeat allowing a tripped-out second over horse to earn a neck victory in late stretch scrum.

Tuesday, April 7

ALLIGATOR FALLS (NW46000) took the top, yielded and was shuffled, brushed back to the lead, set the pace under pressure and was game at 22-1 to finish second.

BIT PLAYER (NW46000) pressed the top one uncovered while escorting the winner to the lane and was short a few steps at 16-1.

EASTER LEGGS (NW70000) was parked the mile, rallied uncovered, prompted the pace to the last steps before tiring and backing up a few steps.

KING FOR A QUEEN (CLMHCP5/7500) was parked the mile, challenged hard uncovered, loomed to the lane before tiring.

EMERY VERN (CLMHCP5/7500) was wide a long way to clear the top one's cover, raced uncovered heading home, challenged, had aim but tired.

Wednesday, April 8

GI PHOTO VICTORY (CLM7500) set the pace under pressure and held off the determined favorite to earn the nod.

K RYAN BLUECHIP (NW1) closed well but late after losing a ton of ground while on a final turn break.

WEGOTTATRUCKYEA (NW1) left to the top, yielded and sat pocket, closed strongly to earn the win.

IABELLA HANOVER (NW1FM) broke while looking to leave, flashed good late speed in the lane through traffic and cannot be discounted.

SHERKIN HANOVER (NW16000M) put in a game uncovered bid and kept coming through the lane to just miss the odds-on favorite.
