Pocono: Hannelore Hanover takes Great Northeast Open Series round

Hannelore Hanover rebounded after being used hard and fading to fifth in the final of the Armbro Flight up at Woodbine Mohawk Park two weeks ago, taking this week's leg of the Great Northeast Open Series for free-for-all trotters at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Starting from the pole position, Hannelore Hanover (Yannick Gingras) settled into second behind Rich And Miserable (Tyler Buter) to the 27 2/5 opening quarter, but then pulled the trigger to the outside and took over the lead in the second quarter.
After taking charge, Hannelore Hanover would go on to hit the half in 56 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:24 3/5, and a 27 4/5 final kicker over the "good" going got her the win by a length and three-quarters in 1:52 2/5. Rich And Miserable wound up second, and Tight Lines (Jeff Gregory) collected third.
Ron Burke trains Hannelore Hanover, a 7-year-old Swan For All mare, for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Frank Baldachino, and J&T Silva Stables, LLC. This was her 44th career victory, and she has now pocketed $2,894,670. The 2-5 favorite, she paid $2.80 to win.
