Race 1 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) STONE HANOVER had a pretty good 3-year-old campaign that included three on-the-board finishes in the New York Sire Stakes program. Qualified well both locally and at Wingate Farms, and he picks up Morrill Jr.'s services tonight. (7) FLYING FINN N exits a fast race at the Meadowlands where he finished with interest, and that should have him ready to go for this race. (9) DIVISION BELL gained to finish second in this class last Sunday at Pocono. Gets the worst of the draw here, but hopefully Simons can float out and land a spot on the inside.
Race 2 - NW6000L5 Trot
(8) WINNING AMERICAN receives some additional class relief tonight after finishing an even third against NW9000L5's last time out, and I think Dube will be sending him out of there in hopes of wiring this group. (3) DJOKOVIC N took the lead from first-over a week ago but faded to finish third. He remains at the same level and should be a contender again. (1) LAKEVIEW TAMMY hasn't won a in a long time but does get the rail and has hit the ticket against NW6000L5's before. Maybe she can add a little value underneath.
Race 3 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) PARTY GIRL HILL was absolutely unbelievable in her qualifiers and her pari-mutuel race at the Meadowlands, even overcoming bad interference to rout that group on 6-12. She moves up from facing NW1 at The Big M to NW4 here, but I haven't seen anything indicating she won't be able to handle it. (2) PASSPORT HANOVER cut the mile and wound up second a week ago. She does have an age advantage on the talented 3-year-olds in here, and I expect Napolitano to show speed with her again. (8) HEN PARTY is now with trainer Tony Alagna after a 2-year-old campaign that saw her finish second in the Kindergarten and fourth in the Three Diamonds. Her qualifiers at Gaitway were both excellent, but she draws outside here, and I think might race from behind.
Race 4 - NW6000L5 Pace
(3) TRUTH AND LIBERTY scored a good second-place finish against NW9000L5's last Sunday and gets to drop a notch in this spot. I'll put her on top. (7) JUXTA COWGIRL also gets class relief tonight. Her best game is when she gets put into the race with her early speed, and I think we'll get to see that from Napolitano. (1) OCEANIA loomed boldly in both of those races at the Meadowlands but was out-finished. This is an easier class tonight, and I respect her chances, but I'll try and beat her with a couple I think can get the jump on her.
Race 5 - F&M NW6/70000LT Pace
(4) LINCOLN'S GIRL N doesn't have a line to show since back in March, but she was good in these types of spots last winter at Harrah's Philly before ending up in some tough classes both there and at Dover. I think she can definitely contend. (3) CHARMS LITTLE SIS paced home with some interest in her last qualifier at the Meadowlands and was able to beat NW6's over at Yonkers last summer. (7) GIRL'S GOT RHYTHM had made it up to the NW8 class at Yonkers before racing had to cease, so she gets to race in a slightly easier spot tonight. Her local qualifier was pretty good as she just got nosed out by her stablemate Triple Dip.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Trot
(5) HELL PATROL raced conservatively in both his qualifier and his start last Sunday, but I think might be more forwardly-placed tonight, and I will use. (4) KYRIE DEO exits the same race as my top pick and should be tighter tonight since that was his first pari-mutuel appearance since last October. (9) OVERSERVED beat NW3 at Vernon in his first try in 2020 but was placed back to fourth. He had a useful rookie campaign and was Marcus Miller's choice in this contest.
Race 7 - F&M NW3000L5 Pace
(7) ELLA IS AWESOME did pretty well last year when able to race at Pocono in this class. George Nap gets the call, and I'll trust him to map out a winning journey. (1) NOTAGAIN owns a couple wins in 2020, which is the most of this group, and she got a tightener in last week. Shifts to the rail here and might be able to sit a good, inside trip. (6) MANDY KRIDEN A made a brief break in her qualifier but did come home with a sub-28 second final kicker. Brabrook is a pretty sharp trainer, and she kept Marcus Miller.
Race 8 - NW3000L5 Trot
(7) SHIVERED came up a head short of the win last Sunday and remains in the NW3000L5 class this week. He does lose Morrill Jr. tonight, but I don't mind George Napolitano taking over, and I remember this horse being very game when he held on to win that qualifier at the Meadowlands. (1) BELLA AVA should be the favorite given the drop off a second against NW6000L5's and Morrill Jr. sticking around, but she isn't always the most reliable horse as far as staying on-stride, so I'll try and beat her. (6) CROSSFIT was pretty well bet against NW6's a week ago but made a break. Obviously it's hard to overlook any Burke horse, but I'd need some additional value to use on top.
Race 9 - NW3000L5 Pace
(5) ACTON HANOVER lands in a much better spot tonight than that NW4 he raced in last Sunday from an outside draw. His Gaitway qualifier was very good, and I expect something more along the lines of that performance here. (4) DAAMERICANSKY has Dube to drive tonight after trainer Mark Silva handled him at Gaitway, so the horse is probably ready to go. He was racing against much tougher foes at the Meadowlands back in the winter. (7) MILANO HANOVER moves down to this class after taking on NW4's a week ago. He was Anthony Napolitano's pick of two in this race.
Race 10 - F&M NW17500L5/NW8 or 90000LT Pace
(1) CORAL BELLA closed with pace in this class a week ago and might be ready for a more aggressive drive now that she's had a pari-mutuel start. (6) VORST went right down the road in the qualifier to win, and I expect George Nap to try and do the same thing here. She's usually a contender when at this type of level. (5) BARON REMY should get plenty of attention as well after winning her qualifier at Gaitway. She was in the open at Dover before racing shut down, but this is more like the group she beat back in January at Yonkers.
Race 11 - F&M NW9000L5/NW6 or 70000LT Pace
(2) ROLLING GOING GONE returned with a good performance like many of Garcia-Herrera's horses have since racing restarted, and I'll hope she improves off that fourth-place finish. She gets a bit of class relief also. (5) GIGI FROM FIJI remains at this NW9000L5 level after finishing fourth last Sunday. She gets a driver change to Kevin Wallis tonight, so that might indicate she'll be going to the front. (3) AMAZING ARYA drops down from NW12000L5 after a third-place effort and she switches pilots to Anthony Napolitano. She should get a lot of play from the bettors.
Race 12 - F&M NW12000L5/NW7 or 80000LT Pace
(8) TOPVILLE ANGELINA is another Garcia-Herrera trainee I will give a chance. She steps up a notch and moves outside off the win, but George Napolitano picked her over another one, and that might mean she has more to offer tonight. (3) ALII NUI raced on 6-5 at the Meadowlands and was a solid third, then qualified at Wingate Farms and won there. She has won multiple times and took her mark at Pocono last year, so this is probably her preferred surface too. (1) ANN HILL was handled conservatively last Sunday, but she could definitely improve off that mile, and those efforts in similar classes at Yonkers this winter make her a fit.
Race 13 - NW9000L5 Trot
(7) BROADWAY ATHENA slides down one notch on the class scale tonight, and I'll hope she has more trot and gets different racing tactics than she did last week when raced from the back. (1) CASINO CUTIE IT was third and fourth in two tough races at the Meadowlands. This is a much more favorable spot for her. (3) RIVER OTTER faded in that event on the 20th, but I liked his qualifier at the Meadowlands, and he gets the same class relief as my top pick.
Race 14 - F&M NW9000L5/NW6 or 70000LT Pace
(4) BETABCOOL N draws a much better post tonight than the eight she had in her last start at Scioto or the nine she was saddled with last Sunday here. This 10-year-old has quite a bit of back-class, and I'll hope she comes with a strong effort. She was also Anthony Napolitano's pick of three in here. (6) MOTU MOONBEAM N doesn't have any race or qualifier lines to rely on, but she hit the board against NW21500L5 and NW15000L5 in her last pair at Yonkers before the shutdown, so she is in a much softer class here tonight. (3) THE CHARGING MOA N was the favorite and finished a rallying second in the open at Tioga on 6-7. She's probably the one to beat, but I'll try others in the hopes of getting a little better price.
