MEET STATS: 60 - 238 / $331.30 (-$144.70) BEST BETS: 10 - 17 / $29.60 (-$4.40) SPOT PLAYS: 2 - 17 / $33.40 (-$0.60) BEST BET - SPECTRE (9th) SPOT PLAY - SWEET ACE (12th) Race 1 - 10000-12500CLM HCP Pace (7) LOOKINFORADVENTURE has been faring pretty well against $10,000 and $12,500 claimers down at Harrah's Philadelphia and was a rallying second versus $12,500 claimers when last seen locally on 9-7. I anticipate he'll offer some value. (3) ASCARYONE HANOVER wound up third last week after getting shuffled back. I would think Napolitano will be more aggressive with him here, and he could get back to a performance like he showed two back. (5) REDHOT ROMEO won in this class last Sunday and had the good fortune of drawing off the also-eligible list into an ideal mid-pack post for him to work out another cover trip today. Race 2 - F&M 10000-12500CLM HCP Pace (4) AUDI BAYAMA invades from Ohio for high-powered connections. She was facing slightly lesser out there, but was victorious in impressive fashion two back, and I'll expect some improvement. (5) ALWAYS BE LUCY has to be in search of a better trip tonight after two straight parked-out journeys. She's hung in until the stretch both times, so I think she does still have some good form. (8) GATORS BEN WINNING got up to win last Sunday after an inside journey. She does move outside on the gate tonight, but was able to overcome the eight-hole to finish second on 9-21. Race 3 - F&M NW3000L5 Pace (1) MELANIE'S FILLY popped pocket in the backstretch last Sunday and then wound up not clearing when the leader responded to the challenge. I did think that showed some confidence in her, though, and I'll give her a chance from post one this week. (3) ELENIARK A has improved her finishing position in each start since joining the Brabrook barn and is probably about due to win one, especially if she stays this low on the class ladder. (6) RHYME N ROLL gained some ground in the final quarter in a NW3000L5 contest last week, and maybe she can hit the ticket at a square price like she did on the 20th of September. Race 4 - 10000-12500CLM HCP Trot (3) VICKI ALL enters this race off a sick scratch last Sunday, but prior to that won at Harrah's Philadelphia and then was fourth in this class. I'll hope the week off doesn't impact her, and she does get a catch driver in Jim Taggart Jr. to drive this time. (2) MEETMEINTHEMIDDLE has been worse than third just once in his last five attempts and adds Matt Kakaley in the bike. (1) MYSTICAL MOTOR was Napolitano's pick in here and moves from post nine to the pole position. He was second against $15,000 claimers three back. Race 5 - 7500CLM Pace (7) SPECTACULAR ROCK raced well again last Sunday, turning in a solid second-place finish to 1-9 favorite Springbridge Proud after cutting the fractions. (8) SIR JAKE'S Z TAM was able to finish third when he dropped down to this class a week ago. McGwire Sowers returns to the bike tonight after Marcus Miller drove him most recently. (6) DAFINATY just held on by a nose to win last week. He's turned in two straight strong efforts with Napolitano driving, and he has him back again here. Race 6 - NW3200L5 Trot (1) CAN DO gets a shot with Napolitano tonight, and while the veteran hasn't won in 2020, many of these are in the same boat, and if he's ever going to wake up, it should come here. (8) BUZZEN GARLAND won in a NW3000L5 on 10-20 after entering for this event, so he might look to take advantage of a chance to race in this class again tonight because he'll have to step up regardless. (2) TT CONWAY is another one with a zero in the win column for this year, but he does drop from the NW6000L5's and showed the ability to hit the board against those back in August and September. Race 7 - 7500CLM Pace (2) SUCHASENSEOFHUMOR made up a whole bunch of ground in the last quarter against $10,000 claimers on 10-14 at Harrah's Philadelphia. He made a subsequent start at Shenandoah Downs in Virginia from post eight that I'll toss out as he draws inside this time and gets Marcus Miller back at the lines. (6) SPRINGBRIDGE PROUD jams back in for the $7,500 tag this week after winning at 1-9 a week ago. He just got there in time after rallying, and I'll try against him at what should be a very short price again. (5) MYSTERY ISLAND has finished outside the top three just once in his last six trips behind the gate and was a solid second last Sunday. Race 8 - 7500CLM Pace (8) URBANA BAYAMA just missed by a nostril last Sunday in a good performance, and I think he's worth another shot, even though he does switch back to an outside post. (3) REGAL HOPE flopped pretty badly a week ago at short odds but did end up having to do the first-over work. Maybe Kakaley can work out an easier trip this time, and this horse did show the ability to hit the board against better claimers lately. (4) CARMENS BEST is another one looking to rebound after a poor finish last week. This horse came back from a sixth on 10-4 to win easily on 10-11, so he is quite capable of getting right back on the beam. Race 9 - NW3200L5 Trot (5) SPECTRE draws into what looks to be a soft spot tonight given his last two wins at Pocono were over NW6000L5's. Buter guided him to both of those scores, including the more recent one on 9-7, and is back at the controls. (8) MEADOWBRANCH RICKY is another horse, like Buzzen Garland earlier on the card, that raced on Tuesday in a NW3000L5 and won. He does have a worse post (eight) than he did in the victory (two), but I believe he's usable. (4) DARTY was the runner-up to Meadowbranch Ricky in that event on the 20th of October, and though he does lose Marcus Miller this time, he has finished second or third in all of his appearances since qualifying on September 23. Race 10 - NW4/50000LT Pace (1) NOTWITHOUTAFIGHT was third from first-over when last seen at Pocono in this class on 9-6. He's won three of four since then, including most recently at Shenandoah Downs in Virginia. (5) JAHAN HANOVER finished second after cutting the fractions last Sunday. He's just one-for-13 in the win column this season, so I'll play against since he'll probably be favored again. (3) GOLD STAR YODER retained Napolitano's services in here and held for third a week ago after coming first-up against Jahan Hanover. Race 11 - NW6400L5 Trot (1) BRUTAL STORM posted his one win in 2020 against NW6000L5's at Pocono on 9-8. I don't like that he lost at 1-9 up at Monticello on October 12, but that might inflate his price some as he returns to the bigger track here. (3) ARCHIBALD broke last Sunday but was Wallis's choice over my top pick in this race and did defeat NW6000L5's on the 3rd of October. (7) DYNAMIC EDGE took advantage of the drop down to the NW3000L5 class to get a victory a week ago. He begins his rise back up the ladder here, but was second at this level three starts ago. Race 12 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace (2) SWEET ACE tired last Sunday after showing some early speed, but she had been idle since 9-25 coming into that contest. I'm going to hope she was a little short and use since she gets back on a normal rotation tonight. She's also in the upcoming Mixed Sale at the Standardbred Horse Sale, so the connections might be keen to get her racing better heading into that. (5) ROLL WITH ANGEL shows a lot of scratches in her lines, but when she does compete, she's pretty good, as evidenced by her win over NW2's here on 9-8 and her subsequent third versus NW4's. (6) MARTINIQUE BEACH gets Allard to drive again and was second as the favorite in a NW4 a week ago. Race 13 - NW4/50000LT Trot (4) LAZER JET backed up his runner-up result two back with another good effort from post eight last Sunday, finishing fourth-placed third. He gets an improved post to work from tonight and will hopefully have another square price, too. (6) CELEBRITY MIRACLE is a pretty proven commodity in this class and picked up another win a week ago. He does move outside this time, but usually shows plenty of early speed, so I don't think it's a big deal. (3) PRESIDENT is probably the hunch play in here given we're in the ongoing election season, but he also has some form, too, entering off a victory over NW3 company at Harrah's Philadelphia. Race 14 - F&M NW6000L5/15000CLM Pace (5) MISS IRISH ROSE A drops after facing better at Saratoga and Yonkers in recent weeks. She won against NW10000L5's at Yonkers on 9-10 and meets up with a beatable bunch tonight. (2) ANNABETH is another Yonkers invader. She was able to get an overdue win over NW5000L5's on Tuesday (October 20) and is capable of scoring here, I think. (6) JUSLIKEAQUEEN races on a quick turnaround as she was the runner-up in a NW7000L5 contest at Harrah's Philadelphia on Wednesday. She's also come in second in her last two opportunities at this level locally.
