Plenty of options for Street Fancy

ARCADIA, Calif. – Street Fancy, who won the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos in December, is being considered for races at Fair Grounds, Oaklawn Park, and Santa Anita, trainer Phil D’Amato said.
The $100,000 Santa Ysabel Stakes at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on March 5 is the local option, but D’Amato is not keen on possibly facing Songbird, the undefeated champion 2-year-old filly of 2015.
Songbird won her 3-year-old debut in the $300,345 Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita on Feb. 6, with Street Fancy finishing last of six. Street Fancy struck her head on the gate before the start, which D’Amato said cost her any chance for a win.
“If Songbird runs here, we’ll see what other options we have,” he said. “I want to see how this thing plays out.”
Two other races under consideration are the $200,000 Honeybee Stakes at Oaklawn Park on March 12 and the $400,000 Fair Grounds Oaks on March 26. Both races are run at 1 1/16 miles.
“We have to check out transportation and see,” D’Amato said. “One thing I like about the Fair Grounds race is the stretch is similar to Los Alamitos – a nice, long stretch for her to find her stride.”
Owned by Agave Racing, Street Fancy has won 2 of 4 starts and earned $223,545.
