Platinum Fdd captures Firecracker Futurity

Platinum Fdd improved his career record to 4 for 5 on Saturday night when he darted to a three-quarter length win in the Grade 2, $271,950 Firecracker Futurity for Quarter Horses at Delta Downs.

The race was part of a rich weekend at the Vinton, La., track. In the $194,810 Firecracker Derby for Quarter Horses on Friday night, Ivan James ($18) was a neck winner over Tlc Dale.

Platinum Fdd ($5) covered 350 yards on a sealed track rated “good” in 17.58 seconds. Damian Martinez rode the winner for Jesus Huitron and trainer Adrian Huitron. Platinum Fdd is a son of First Down Dash.
