Plans vary for BC Juvenile Fillies top three

British Idiom, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, will not race again this year and will winter at Fair Grounds, runner-up Donna Veloce won’t race until January, but third-place finisher Bast could race next month in the Starlet at Los Alamitos, their trainers reported Sunday morning.
British Idiom locked up a divisional Eclipse Award with her victory on Friday. She was on a plane in the wee hours early Saturday morning to Churchill Downs, but soon will relocate to Fair Grounds, trainer Brad Cox said.
Donna Veloce, second in only her second start, will follow the same early 3-year-old pattern as her older stablemate, Bellafina, with the Kentucky Oaks the main goal the first half of 2020, according to trainer Simon Callaghan. Bellafina won the Santa Anita Oaks earlier this year after victories in the Santa Ynez in January and Las Virgenes in February.
Bast, who finished third, likely will run next month in the Starlet, according to trainer Bob Baffert.
“She came out of the race well, tired as she was,” he said. “She put in a gutty effort.”
Wicked Whisper, who finished fifth while suffering her first career loss, most likely will not race again until early next year at Oaklawn Park, trainer Steve Asmussen reported Sunday.
