Buetane, who ran third in last week’s Grade 3, $1 million Southwest at Oaklawn, has returned home to Southern California, according to his trainer, Bob Baffert. Baffert said Monday that plans for the horse have yet to be determined. Buetane was Grade 1-placed in September, when he ran second in the Hopeful, won by eventual champion Ted Noffey. Buetane, who is by Tiz the Law, was making his two-turn debut in the Southwest. Meanwhile, the unbeaten Ewing was one of nine entered in the $150,000 Ozark for 3-year-olds Monday at Oaklawn. The six-furlong race has been the target for the winner of the Grade 2 Saratoga Special, according to his trainer, Mark Casse. Oaklawn and Sam Houston both have Ratings Handicap races Friday. First up is the fourth at Oaklawn, and then the seventh at Sam Houston. Sam Houston announced plans for a Racing Club aligned with MyRacehorse. The trainer will be Mindy Willis. :: Live racing action at Oaklawn Park! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now.
