Plan B for Bling On the Music begins in My Trusty Cat

Bling On the Music had briefly been under consideration for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, but her connections have instead mapped out a two-race plan at Delta Downs that gets under way Friday night in the $100,000 My Trusty Cat.
The seven-furlong race around two turns is the local prep for the Grade 3, $400,000 Delta Downs Princess, which is the second half of the plan for Bling On the Music.
Bling On the Music figures to go favored Friday off her third-place finish in the Grade 2 Pocahontas at Churchill Downs. Her rivals in the My Trusty Cat include Churchill Downs allowance winner Golden Mischief and Louisiana-bred stakes winners Chases Dixie Belle and Actif Storm.

◗ She defeated male rivals by 13 lengths in the $100,000 Gold Rush Futurity in August, one start before making her two-turn debut in the Pocahontas. She dueled at Churchill before finishing 4 1/4 lengths behind winner Daddys Lil Darling. The runner-up from the Pocahontas, Ever So Clever, came back to win an allowance Wednesday at Keeneland.
◗ Bling On the Music has since worked a half-mile in 47.60 seconds Oct. 5 at Remington Park. She will be making her first start at Delta, a six-furlong track, in the My Trusty Cat.
“She’s doing really good,” said J.R. Caldwell, who trains Bling On the Music for Keene Thoroughbreds. “This gives her a prep race across the track for the Delta Princess. That’s an advantage for us.”
◗ Chris Rosier has the mount from post 5.
Golden Mischief, by Into Mischief
Last 3 Beyers: 82-69-71
◗ She has won back-to-back races in Kentucky, taking a maiden special weight sprint Aug. 26 at Ellis and a conditioned allowance sprint Sept. 22 at Churchill.
“It’s a very good spot for her,” said trainer Steve Asmussen. “She’s coming off a very nice allowance win at Churchill Downs.”
◗ Asmussen said the timing of the My Trusty Cat works well for Golden Mischief, who will break from post 6 under Gerard Melancon.
Flatter Up, by Flatter

◗ She was an 8 1/4-length debut winner Sept. 29 at Remington. She covered six furlongs in 1:10.80.
“She doesn’t have a lot of seasoning, one start, but it was a very impressive start,” said trainer Bret Calhoun. “My biggest concern is the pace scenario.”
◗ Calhoun said he is concerned about the likelihood of a duel with the quick Bling On the Music.
◗ John Jacinto has the mount from post 2.
