Plain Ol' Willard came from way off the pace Sunday to win the $50,000 Catlaunch Stakes at ThistleDown. Trained by Tony Lowry and ridden by Noel Vigil, Plain Ol' Willard was last early after being in tight at the start before rallying to a 2 1/2-length win. Jac's Fact finished second, and Uncle Virgil was 6 1/2 lengths back in third in the field of 11 Ohio-bred horses. The running time for the 1 1/16 miles was 1:47.02 over a fast track. Plain Ol' Willard returned $12.40 to win.
